Job Roles at GoFundMe
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in GoFundMe H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target Technical and Research-Focused Roles
GoFundMe's H-1B sponsorships are concentrated in specialty occupations requiring a specific degree, such as software engineering and data science. Focus your applications on roles where your field of study directly aligns with the job requirements.
Signal Sponsorship Awareness Early
GoFundMe's recruiting team needs to initiate the H-1B process well before your start date. Raise your visa status during the offer conversation, not after, so the team can plan around USCIS filing windows and premium processing options.
Emphasize Mission Alignment in Your Application
GoFundMe operates at the intersection of technology and social impact. Demonstrating genuine connection to the company's mission strengthens your candidacy and helps hiring managers justify the additional steps involved in H-1B sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Verified Open Roles
Not every GoFundMe job listing will mention sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify GoFundMe openings where H-1B candidates have a realistic path to an offer.
Understand the H-1B Cap and Timing Constraints
If you're not already in H-1B status, GoFundMe will need to file during the April cap season for an October start. Engage with recruiters early enough that your offer can realistically fit within that window.
Prepare Your Degree and Experience Documentation
GoFundMe's sponsored roles fall under specialty occupation requirements. Have transcripts, credential evaluations for foreign degrees, and a clear record of your relevant work experience ready before the offer stage to avoid delays in the H-1B petition.

Does GoFundMe sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, GoFundMe sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in technical and research-oriented functions. Sponsorship is available for positions that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Not every open role includes sponsorship, so confirming eligibility with the recruiter early in the process is important.
Which roles and departments at GoFundMe typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at GoFundMe is most common in software engineering, data science, machine learning, and product roles where a specific technical degree is a genuine job requirement. Business, operations, and generalist roles are less likely to qualify as specialty occupations and are therefore less commonly sponsored.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at GoFundMe?
Once GoFundMe extends an offer to an H-1B candidate, the company works with an immigration attorney to prepare and file the petition. Your role is to provide supporting documentation, including your degree credentials, employment history, and passport information. GoFundMe's HR or legal team will guide you through each step, but being organized and responsive significantly reduces delays.
How do I set realistic timeline expectations for H-1B sponsorship at GoFundMe?
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, the timeline is driven by USCIS's annual lottery cycle, with registration in March and an October 1 start date at the earliest. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, GoFundMe can file a transfer petition and your employment can begin once USCIS issues a receipt notice, which typically takes a few weeks.
How do I find H-1B jobs at GoFundMe that are open to sponsored candidates?
Most GoFundMe job listings don't explicitly state whether H-1B sponsorship is available, which makes it harder to know where to focus. Migrate Mate tracks verified sponsorship history by employer, so you can identify GoFundMe roles where international candidates have successfully received offers and sponsorship, saving you time and reducing uncertainty in your job search.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at GoFundMe?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
