Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
Gotion's H-1B filings center on roles requiring a directly related degree, so a materials science or chemical engineering background strengthens your petition. Pull the relevant occupation profile from O*NET to confirm your job title meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria before applying.
Research Gotion's prevailing wage tier early
Before negotiating your offer, use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your specific role and the Illinois location where Gotion operates. Knowing whether you'll be offered a Level I or Level III wage helps you evaluate whether the offer supports a clean H-1B filing.
Target R&D and battery engineering teams directly
Gotion's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in science and research functions, particularly teams working on cell development and energy storage systems. Reaching the hiring manager in those units, not just HR, is how you get in front of the decision-makers who control sponsored headcount.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
H-1B employers must be enrolled in E-Verify, and Gotion operates large-scale manufacturing in Illinois where verification compliance is standard. Ask your recruiter to confirm enrollment status during the offer stage so there are no delays once USCIS approves your petition and you need to start.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation upfront
If your science or engineering degree is from a non-U.S. institution, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-accredited service before your interview process concludes. Gotion's petitions in R&D fields face USCIS scrutiny on whether foreign degrees meet the U.S. bachelor's equivalent threshold for specialty occupation.
Use Migrate Mate to track Gotion's filing history
Understanding which job titles and departments Gotion has sponsored in recent cycles sharpens your targeting. Migrate Mate surfaces Gotion's LCA filing history by role and location, so you can identify which positions have an active sponsorship track record before you invest time applying.
Gotion Inc. H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gotion Inc. sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Gotion Inc. sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for roles in science, research, and advanced manufacturing engineering. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical and R&D functions tied to its battery technology operations in the United States.
Which roles at Gotion Inc. typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Gotion Inc. is most common in roles requiring specialized technical degrees, including battery cell engineers, materials scientists, electrochemistry researchers, and process engineers. Corporate and administrative positions are sponsored less frequently. If your role falls under science or engineering, it has a stronger case for meeting USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I start the H-1B application process at Gotion Inc.?
Once Gotion extends a job offer and agrees to sponsor, the company's immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submits Form I-129 to USCIS during the annual H-1B cap registration window each March. Your role is to supply credentials, degree transcripts, and any prior visa documentation promptly when requested by the legal team.
How long does the H-1B process take at Gotion Inc.?
The standard H-1B timeline runs from the March registration lottery through an October 1 start date. USCIS standard processing can take several months after the petition is filed in April. Premium processing is available for an additional government fee and typically delivers a decision within 15 business days, which many candidates in research roles request to reduce uncertainty.
How do I find open H-1B roles at Gotion Inc.?
Migrate Mate lists Gotion Inc. positions filtered by verified H-1B sponsorship history, so you can identify live openings in science and engineering without sorting through roles the company doesn't sponsor. Cross-reference with Gotion's direct careers page to confirm current availability, then apply with documentation that clearly maps your degree to the specific job title.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Gotion Inc.?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
