At our state-of-the-art facilities located globally, Air MI is taking Air to places that we never thought possible.
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will join the Design Engineering team at Air Manufacturing Innovation and report to the Manager or Senior Manager, Product Development Engineering, Design. You will collaborate multi-functionally with Project Management, Materials, Product Engineering, Equipment Controls and Safety, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality Teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer to join a team of engineers responsible for commercializing and manufacturing Nike Air products. This role works cross functionally on projects ranging from new products, processes, and materials to continuous improvement on our existing product portfolio. You will apply deep expertise in product development, including process, tool design, and materials, while partnering with teammates and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
The candidate needs strong technical judgment in CAD-based part and tooling design, comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and the ability to own complex design assignments from concept through release. The ideal candidate communicates clearly across functions, manages multiple priorities, and contributes solutions when information is incomplete. This is an individual contributor role: the candidate will lead technical work on assigned projects and coach less experienced engineers.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or other manufacturing related degree, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
- Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing experience within a high-volume manufacturing production environment
- Proficiency using CAD tools for complex product and tooling design. NX & GD&T experience is strongly preferred
- Experience using PDM software and in depth understanding of revision control. Teamcenter experience is strongly preferred
- Validated project management skills and proven ability to deliver on multiple concurrent engineering assignments
- Great teamwork and communication skills with ability to work with associates of all levels
- Experience with Six Sigma Tools, Lean Manufacturing methods, industrial equipment safety, and fabrication and tolerancing for machined and additive tooling is preferred
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
- Experience with programming languages for scripting and developing applications for NX Open API is a plus.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You will own part and tooling design for new product development and continuous improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency. You will partner with stakeholders across Air MI to align technical work with manufacturing priorities and deliver designs ready for production.
- Design parts and tooling for new product development, from concept through detailed documentation and release
- Develop and implement tooling-related changes for continuous improvement to increase operational efficiencies
- Apply computational design methods and contribute to design and tooling operational excellence on your projects
- Collaborate with Tooling Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and other partners to align tasks, timelines, and technical requirements
- Support development of new Air products and daily manufacturing operations, including hands-on problem solving on the floor when needed
- Solve problems using limited information, implement practical solutions, and anticipate downstream manufacturing impacts
- Contribute to documenting and maintaining standard work instructions and design standards for the team
- Share technical knowledge with teammates and communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional partners
We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed. If you discover, as you navigate our application process, that you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, please complete the Candidate Accommodation Request Form.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nike H-1B Jobs
Target roles in Nike's technology and digital divisions
Nike's investment in direct-to-consumer technology and digital product means software engineering, data science, and platform roles are among the most H-1B-friendly. These departments have historically filed the most petitions relative to other business units.
Understand Nike's H-1B petition timeline before you apply
Nike files H-1B petitions on a fiscal year cycle tied to USCIS cap registration in March. If you're on OPT, confirm your work authorization bridges the gap so there's no lapse between your current status and H-1B approval.
Highlight specialty occupation fit in your application materials
H-1B approval depends on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation. For Nike, that means framing your resume around the specific degree-to-role connection, whether you're in finance, engineering, supply chain, or advanced analytics.
Use verified sponsorship data when searching for open roles
Not every Nike job listing confirms visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid applying to roles where international candidates are routinely screened out.
Look beyond headquarters when considering Nike opportunities
Nike hires across its Oregon headquarters, distribution centers, and regional offices. H-1B filings span multiple locations, so broadening your geographic search increases your odds of finding an actively sponsoring team with open headcount.
Engage Nike's talent acquisition team early in the process
Recruiters at large fashion and apparel companies manage H-1B sponsorship decisions with legal and HR teams. Raising your visa status early in conversations, not at the offer stage, gives Nike time to assess sponsorship feasibility before you're deep in the process.
Nike H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nike sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Nike sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles across its global business. Sponsorship is most common in technology, data engineering, supply chain, and corporate functions. Nike works with immigration counsel to file cap-subject petitions and also sponsors H-1B transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer.
Which roles and departments at Nike are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
Technology and digital product roles see the highest concentration of H-1B sponsorship at Nike, including software engineers, data scientists, and platform architects. Finance, operations, and supply chain roles also appear in Nike's H-1B filings. Retail-facing or hourly positions are generally not eligible, as H-1B requires a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Nike?
Once Nike extends an offer, its immigration team and outside counsel handle the H-1B petition. Your role is to provide educational credentials, employment history, and any prior immigration documents. Nike files a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor first, then submits the I-129 petition to USCIS. The full process typically runs several months from offer to approval.
How do I find Nike H-1B sponsorship jobs that are actively hiring?
Nike's careers page lists open roles, but job postings rarely confirm visa sponsorship directly. Migrate Mate shows verified H-1B sponsorship history by employer so you can identify which Nike roles and locations are realistic targets before investing time in the application process. Filtering by confirmed sponsors significantly improves your search efficiency.
What is the H-1B timeline I should expect if Nike offers me a position?
The H-1B cap registration window opens each March, with USCIS conducting the lottery shortly after. If selected, Nike can file your petition starting April 1 for an October 1 start date. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days. If you already hold H-1B status, Nike can file a transfer petition at any time without waiting for the next cap cycle.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Nike?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
