Match your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Nuvance Health's H-1B filings center on clinical roles that require a specific degree field, not just any bachelor's degree. Cross-check your credential against the O*NET occupation profile for your target role before applying to confirm it meets the specialty occupation threshold.
Target departments with recurring H-1B needs
Nuvance Health's sponsorship activity is concentrated in nursing, radiology, pharmacy, and rehabilitation services. Applying to roles in these departments puts you in front of hiring managers who already understand the H-1B process and have internal HR infrastructure to support it.
Verify your wage offer clears the prevailing wage floor
Before you accept an offer, run your job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for that role. A wage shortfall can delay or derail the LCA certification step entirely.
Ask about timing relative to the April cap deadline
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If your Nuvance Health offer comes late in the hiring cycle, clarify whether they'll file in the current registration window or carry your start date to the following fiscal year.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Nuvance Health's H-1B filing history
Before your interview, pull Nuvance Health's LCA filing history on Migrate Mate to see which job titles and locations they've sponsored. That data lets you walk in knowing exactly which roles align with their established sponsorship pattern, which strengthens your negotiating position.
Prepare for credential evaluation before the offer stage
If your medical or allied health degree is from outside the U.S., Nuvance Health's HR team will likely require a foreign credential evaluation before they can file the H-1B petition. Getting a NACES-member evaluation done in advance removes a common bottleneck in the hiring timeline.
Nuvance Health H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nuvance Health sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Nuvance Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates across its hospital and outpatient network in Connecticut and New York. Sponsorship is most consistent in clinical and allied health roles where specific degree requirements make positions eligible as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines.
Which roles and departments typically receive H-1B sponsorship at Nuvance Health?
Nuvance Health's H-1B sponsorship activity is concentrated in clinical departments, including nursing, pharmacy, radiology, and rehabilitation services. These roles carry defined degree requirements that satisfy the specialty occupation standard. Administrative and general support positions are less likely to qualify for H-1B sponsorship under the same criteria.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Nuvance Health?
Once Nuvance Health extends a qualifying offer, their HR team works with an immigration attorney to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL and then submit the I-129 petition to USCIS. Your role is to provide credential documentation, a valid passport, and any prior immigration records promptly to avoid delays in the filing timeline.
How do I find open H-1B-eligible roles at Nuvance Health?
Migrate Mate aggregates Nuvance Health's job listings alongside their DOL Labor Condition Application filing history, so you can identify which specific roles and locations they've actively sponsored. Filtering by job title lets you focus your application on positions where H-1B sponsorship is an established pattern rather than an uncertain ask.
How long does the H-1B process take at Nuvance Health?
For cap-subject candidates, the timeline runs from the March registration lottery through an October 1 employment start date. USCIS standard processing can take several months after the April filing window. Premium processing is available for an additional government fee and typically returns a decision within a few business days of USCIS receiving the petition.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Nuvance Health?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
