Target Redfin's engineering and data teams
H-1B sponsorship at Redfin concentrates in software engineering, data science, and product roles. Applying to positions outside these technical tracks makes sponsorship approval less likely, so focus your search where Redfin's sponsorship history is strongest.
Understand how real estate tech shapes hiring
Redfin operates at the intersection of construction, real estate, and technology. Roles supporting its platform, data infrastructure, or market analytics tend to qualify as specialty occupations, which is the core requirement for H-1B eligibility.
Raise sponsorship early, not at the offer stage
Mentioning H-1B need during early screening avoids wasted time for both sides. Redfin's recruiting team handles sponsorship decisions internally, so clarity upfront helps them route your application to the right hiring manager and legal team.
Search for verified H-1B sponsors before applying
Not every job listing signals genuine sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Redfin roles where H-1B candidates have been hired before.
Account for H-1B cap timing in your job search
If you need a new H-1B rather than a transfer, USCIS lottery registration runs in March each year. Timing your Redfin application to land an offer before the registration window opens gives you the best path to cap-subject sponsorship.
Highlight domain expertise relevant to real estate
Redfin values candidates who understand the real estate market, not just the technology. Demonstrating knowledge of property data, listing platforms, or housing market trends strengthens your case and signals you can contribute quickly in a specialized industry.
Redfin H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Redfin sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Redfin sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent record of sponsoring international workers, primarily in technical roles such as software engineering, data science, and product development. Sponsorship is not offered across every department, so candidates should confirm visa support with the recruiter during initial screening.
Which roles and departments at Redfin are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
Engineering and data science positions are where Redfin's H-1B sponsorship is most concentrated. These roles require a specialized degree and technical expertise, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard the H-1B requires. Business operations, sales, and real estate agent roles are generally not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Redfin?
Once Redfin extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, the company's legal team or an outside immigration firm files the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, followed by the H-1B petition with USCIS. If you need a cap-subject H-1B, your petition enters the annual lottery. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, Redfin can file a petition without waiting for the lottery.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Redfin that are open to sponsorship?
Redfin posts open roles on its careers page, but listings rarely specify H-1B eligibility. Migrate Mate lets you search Redfin's verified sponsorship history so you can identify which job categories have historically led to H-1B filings. That context helps you apply with more confidence and ask better questions during recruiting calls.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at Redfin?
If your H-1B requires the annual lottery, expect to register in March, receive a selection result by April, and have your petition adjudicated by October 1, when the new fiscal year begins. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, Redfin can typically file within a few weeks of your offer acceptance, and you can start work once USCIS acknowledges receipt.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Redfin?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
