Frame your degree around Simplot's technical roles
H-1B sponsorship requires your degree to directly match the job's specialty occupation definition. For Simplot, that means connecting your field of study, whether agronomy, food science, or chemical engineering, to the specific role's duties as defined in the LCA filing.
Research Simplot's LCA filings before applying
Use Migrate Mate to review Simplot's Labor Condition Application history by role and location. This shows which job titles have been sponsored, which facilities file most frequently, and what prevailing wage levels Simplot has committed to paying for roles like yours.
Target Simplot facilities with active R&D or engineering teams
Simplot's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in technical functions tied to potato processing, fertilizer science, and agricultural research. Roles at innovation centers or production facilities with dedicated engineering staff are more likely to involve active H-1B sponsorship than general operations positions.
Verify your wage expectation against prevailing wage data
Before negotiating an offer at Simplot, check the OFLC Wage Search for the prevailing wage in your occupation and the specific work location. USCIS requires the offered salary to meet or exceed this threshold, and misalignment can delay or derail an LCA filing.
Confirm Simplot's H-1B cap-subject filing timeline with HR
If you're outside the cap-exempt pipeline, your H-1B start date is tied to the October 1 fiscal year. Ask Simplot's HR team directly when they begin preparing LCA and I-129 filings, since missing USCIS registration deadlines in March is a hard cutoff with no exceptions.
Align your OPT or CPT work history to Simplot's specialty areas
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT at another agricultural or food science employer, document how that practical training directly supports the role Simplot is sponsoring. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims more carefully when prior work history spans unrelated industries.
Simplot Company H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Simplot Company sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Simplot Company sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in agricultural science, food technology, engineering, and related technical fields. Sponsorship is tied to positions that meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Not all open positions at Simplot are eligible.
Which departments at Simplot Company are most likely to offer H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Simplot tends to concentrate in research and development, food science, agronomy, chemical engineering, and plant operations roles requiring specialized technical credentials. Corporate functions like finance or IT may also qualify if the position meets the specialty occupation threshold, but agricultural and scientific roles are Simplot's clearest sponsorship pattern.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Simplot Company that are open to sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to filter Simplot's verified H-1B LCA filing history by job title and work location. This surfaces which roles Simplot has actively sponsored and at which facilities, helping you target your application toward positions with a real track record of sponsorship rather than guessing from the job listing alone.
How do I navigate the H-1B filing process once Simplot extends an offer?
After Simplot extends an offer, their legal or HR team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, followed by an I-129 petition with USCIS. If you're subject to the annual cap, the registration window opens in March for an October 1 start date. Confirm with Simplot HR which legal counsel they use and what documents they'll need from you early.
How long does H-1B sponsorship typically take at Simplot Company?
Standard USCIS processing for an H-1B petition can run several months after approval in the lottery, meaning a March registration selection typically results in an October 1 start. Premium processing is available for faster adjudication and is sometimes covered by the employer. Ask Simplot HR upfront whether they offer premium processing as part of their sponsorship package.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Simplot Company?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
