- Handle administrative agency (e.g. EEOC and DOL) and pre-litigation employment matters
- Draft and comment on training and provide select training to people leaders
- Assist in the development and documentation of sales commission and other incentive compensation plans
- Responsible for OFCCP compliance reports and similar filings
- Advise Benefits on compliance with relevant law and review and provide comments on contracts for company benefits

- Negotiate contracts (including DPAs) with contractors, recruiting organizations, HR vendors, and similar orgs
- Assist in drafting and updating the Employee Handbook
- Assist in administering and managing employee equity

- Manage other projects as required or assigned (even if they aren’t in your wheelhouse)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- You hold a JD and are admitted to practice in California
- You have 10+ years of in-house experience (or similar law firm experience providing advice and counsel to startups)
- Experience advising companies with hourly employees, especially in California manufacturing
- Must be able to work onsite at least 3 days per week: at least 2 days at our Hayward manufacturing site and at least 1 day at our HQ in San Mateo
- You know how to triage and ruthlessly prioritize
- You manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, maintaining ownership and a high standard of accuracy and follow-through

Target technical and engineering roles
Skydio's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, robotics, and aerospace functions. Focus your search on roles that require specialized technical degrees, as these align most closely with the specialty occupation standard H-1B requires.
Understand the defense industry hiring timeline
Aerospace and defense companies like Skydio often have longer hiring cycles due to security and compliance considerations. Start your H-1B job search several months before your current status expires to give yourself adequate runway for the process.
Highlight your specialized credentials early
Skydio operates in a highly technical field where niche expertise matters. Lead your application with your degree field and specific technical skills, as immigration counsel will assess specialty occupation eligibility from your resume and job description.
Ask about sponsorship directly during recruiter screens
Skydio recruiters are familiar with H-1B sponsorship given the company's international hiring history. Asking early in the process whether a specific role is open to H-1B candidates saves time and sets clear expectations on both sides.
Find verified H-1B jobs at Skydio without guesswork
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you confirm Skydio's current open roles before investing time in an application that may not lead to visa support.
Prepare for the April H-1B cap deadline
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, Skydio must register you by late March for the April lottery. Confirm your timeline with the recruiter well in advance so the company's immigration counsel can file the registration before the window closes.
Skydio H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Skydio sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Skydio sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles. The company has an established history of supporting international candidates, particularly in technical and engineering positions. Sponsorship is role-dependent, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is the most reliable way to verify support for a specific opening.
Which roles at Skydio are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Skydio is most common in software engineering, robotics, computer vision, and aerospace engineering roles. These positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement that H-1B petitions depend on.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Skydio?
Once Skydio extends an offer, the company's immigration counsel handles the H-1B petition, including the Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor. Your role is to provide employment history, educational credentials, and any prior immigration documents. The process begins well before your intended start date, so accepting the offer promptly matters.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Skydio?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the process starts with the March registration window, lottery selection in April, and petition filing by June for an October 1 start date. Standard USCIS processing takes three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that to two to three weeks for an additional fee paid by the employer.
How do I find open H-1B roles at Skydio?
Searching directly on Skydio's careers page is a starting point, but it won't show you sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lists verified H-1B sponsors and filters open roles by companies with confirmed sponsorship records, which makes it easier to identify Skydio positions that are realistically accessible to international candidates without sorting through generic job boards.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Skydio?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
