Align your credentials with WEAVER's practice areas
WEAVER's H-1B filings concentrate in assurance, tax, and advisory services. Before applying, verify your degree field directly maps to the role, not just to accounting broadly. Auditing roles often require a specialty occupation determination, so a mismatch between degree and job duties can create problems at the petition stage.
Research prevailing wage requirements before negotiating
WEAVER must certify your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location when filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific job title before your salary conversation begins, so you're not caught off guard.
Target WEAVER's campus recruiting for H-1B pipeline roles
Public accounting firms like WEAVER typically build their H-1B pipeline through campus recruiting and intern-to-full-time conversion. Applying through their structured campus programs gives you the earliest entry point, where sponsorship conversations happen before the April H-1B filing window closes.
Confirm WEAVER's E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
All H-1B employers must use E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Ask your recruiter directly whether WEAVER is enrolled before signing an offer letter. This also signals to the hiring team that you understand the compliance process and aren't new to sponsored employment.
Use Migrate Mate to verify WEAVER's H-1B filing history by role
Before your interview, check Migrate Mate to review WEAVER's DOL Labor Condition Application history filtered by occupation. This shows which job titles they've actively sponsored, giving you concrete evidence to reference during negotiations and helping you focus your application on roles with a real sponsorship track record.
Start your H-1B timeline planning from your OPT end date
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap-subject lottery runs once per year with a filing window in April. WEAVER will need to commit to sponsoring you well before that window opens. Raise the sponsorship conversation during your performance review, not after your OPT authorization is near expiring.
WEAVER H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does WEAVER sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, WEAVER sponsors H-1B visas for qualified professionals in accounting and auditing roles. The firm supports international talent across its assurance, tax, and advisory practices. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific open positions rather than offered as a blanket policy, so confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during the hiring process.
Which roles at WEAVER typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at WEAVER is most common in roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a directly related field. Assurance associates, tax staff, and advisory consultants are the most frequently sponsored positions. Roles with a clear specialty occupation designation, where the degree requirement is specific and non-discretionary, have the strongest sponsorship case under USCIS standards.
How do I start the H-1B application process at WEAVER?
WEAVER initiates the H-1B process on your behalf after you've accepted an offer. The firm's immigration counsel or HR team files the Labor Condition Application with DOL first, then submits the H-1B petition to USCIS. Your role is to provide documentation including your degree credentials, passport, and employment details. You don't file anything independently at this stage.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at WEAVER?
The timeline depends on when WEAVER files and whether they elect premium processing through USCIS. Standard H-1B adjudication can take several months after the October 1 start date. Premium processing guarantees a USCIS decision within 15 business days of receipt. If you're on OPT, build your timeline backward from your authorization expiry date and flag any gaps to your recruiter early.
How do I find open H-1B roles at WEAVER?
Search Migrate Mate to find WEAVER job listings filtered by H-1B sponsorship history, so you're applying to roles the firm has actively supported before. Cross-reference the job title against O*NET to confirm it meets the specialty occupation standard before applying. Focusing on roles in WEAVER's core service lines, such as assurance and tax, gives you the strongest sponsorship foundation.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at WEAVER?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
