Align your credentials to U.S. clinical standards
Medical physics roles at HonorHealth typically require ABR board certification or active candidacy. Confirm your degree and clinical training hours map to ABR eligibility before applying, since credentialing gaps can delay both hiring decisions and H-1B petition filing.
Target HonorHealth's radiation oncology and imaging departments
Physics openings at HonorHealth concentrate around radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging units. Focus your applications on requisitions that list clinical physicists or medical physics specialists, where the specialty occupation argument for H-1B is well-established and USCIS approval rates are strongest.
Ask about LCA timing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition. Confirm HonorHealth's HR team has started this step early, since LCA certification alone takes seven to ten business days under normal processing.
Clarify OPT cap-gap coverage with your hiring manager
If you're on F-1 OPT when HonorHealth files your H-1B, your work authorization automatically extends under cap-gap rules until October 1. Make sure your hiring manager understands this so onboarding and payroll aren't paused unnecessarily during the transition window.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Physics openings
Physics roles at HonorHealth don't stay open long when they appear. Use Migrate Mate to filter for current HonorHealth Physics positions that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live requisitions rather than outdated listings.
Prepare a PERM-ready employment history file early
If HonorHealth pursues a Green Card through PERM for your Physics role, DOL requires a detailed audit-proof work history. Gather foreign degree equivalency evaluations, employment verification letters, and published credentials now so the process doesn't stall when your employer is ready to file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does HonorHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Physicists?
Yes, HonorHealth sponsors H-1B visas for Physics roles, particularly in medical physics and radiation oncology. These positions qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require a relevant advanced degree. HonorHealth's HR and legal teams manage the petition process, but you should confirm sponsorship availability with the recruiter before advancing through interviews.
How do I apply for Physics jobs at HonorHealth?
Applications go through HonorHealth's careers portal on their official website. Search for medical physicist, clinical physicist, or radiation physics titles. Migrate Mate also aggregates HonorHealth Physics openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which makes it easier to identify which specific roles are accessible to international candidates without sorting through every listing manually.
Which visa types does HonorHealth commonly use for Physics roles?
HonorHealth has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for Physics positions. H-1B is the most common pathway for full-time clinical physicists. TN visa is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose Physics work fits the USMCA scientist or engineer categories. OPT is often used during residency or fellowship transitions.
What qualifications does HonorHealth expect for Physics roles?
Most clinical Physics positions at HonorHealth require a master's or doctoral degree in medical physics or a closely related field, along with ABR board certification or documented progress toward it. Hands-on experience with linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, or diagnostic imaging equipment is expected. Roles in radiation oncology physics specifically favor candidates with clinical residency training from CAMPEP-accredited programs.
How do I plan my timeline for a Physics role with visa sponsorship at HonorHealth?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, factor in the April lottery registration window and the October 1 start date that USCIS enforces for cap-subject petitions. That means coordinating your job search, offer acceptance, and LCA filing at least six months before your intended start. If you're on OPT, you have more flexibility, but cap-gap protection only applies if your H-1B is filed before your OPT expires.
