Verify Your Nursing License Transfers Early
Arizona requires NCLEX passage and a state nursing license before you can practice. Start the endorsement or examination process through the Arizona State Board of Nursing well before applying, because HonorHealth will expect active or pending licensure at the offer stage.
Target HonorHealth's High-Turnover Units First
Acute care, ICU, and emergency nursing roles at HonorHealth see the most consistent openings. Focusing your search on these units improves your odds of finding a position where the hiring manager has experience working through sponsorship paperwork with HR.
Confirm H-1B Fit Before Accepting Any Offer
Nursing roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, which means your position needs to require at least a bachelor's degree in nursing. Clarify with the recruiter upfront that the specific role meets H-1B specialty occupation standards before the offer is formalized.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsoring Employers
Not every healthcare employer that posts nursing jobs will sponsor visas. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for HonorHealth nursing openings tied to confirmed sponsorship history, so you're not spending time on applications that will stall at the offer stage.
Align Your Start Date With the H-1B Cap Calendar
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only be filed in April for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer outside that window, work with HonorHealth's immigration team to determine whether a cap-exempt bridge arrangement or a different visa category covers the gap.

Find Nursing at HonorHealth JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does HonorHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Nurses?
Yes, HonorHealth has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. For H-1B sponsorship to apply, the specific nursing position must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which generally requires the role to demand at least a bachelor's degree in nursing as a minimum entry requirement. Confirm this with the recruiter before accepting an offer, since not every nursing title will meet that threshold.
Which visa types does HonorHealth commonly sponsor for Nursing roles?
HonorHealth has sponsored nurses through H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT pathways, as well as immigrant visa categories including EB-2 and EB-3. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican registered nurses. F-1 OPT and CPT are relevant if you're completing a U.S. nursing program. EB-3 is the most common Green Card pathway for registered nurses and involves PERM labor certification filed through DOL.
What qualifications does HonorHealth expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
HonorHealth typically expects candidates to hold at minimum a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, though some units accept an Associate Degree in Nursing with a commitment to pursue a BSN. Active Arizona RN licensure or a pending endorsement application is required. Specialty units such as ICU or cardiovascular care often expect relevant certifications like CCRN. International applicants should also have their credentials evaluated through a NACES-recognized agency.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at HonorHealth?
You can browse and apply for HonorHealth nursing openings through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles tied to confirmed sponsorship history so you're not applying blind. Once you identify a position, apply directly through HonorHealth's careers portal and indicate your visa sponsorship needs early in the process. Connecting with a HonorHealth nurse recruiter directly after submitting your application can also accelerate the screening timeline.
How do I manage timing if my OPT expires before an H-1B is approved?
If you're on F-1 OPT and your 24-month STEM extension isn't available, coordinate with HonorHealth's HR team to confirm they'll file your H-1B petition in the April cap window for an October 1 start. If your OPT expires before October 1, you'll need to confirm whether a cap-gap period applies or explore a change of status through another eligible nonimmigrant category to maintain continuous work authorization while your petition is pending.
