Get Your Clinical Credentials Verified Early
Arizona requires Medical Assistants to meet specific training or certification standards. Have your credentials evaluated by a recognized body before applying so HonorHealth's HR team can quickly confirm your qualifications meet state and facility requirements.
Target HonorHealth's Outpatient Clinic Openings
HonorHealth staffs Medical Assistants across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Outpatient and specialty clinic roles often have more predictable scheduling demands, which can make them easier to fill with sponsored candidates on structured work authorization timelines like OPT or TN.
Use Migrate Mate to Track Active Openings
HonorHealth posts Medical Assistant roles across multiple locations and specialties at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter for sponsorship-confirmed openings so you're applying to positions where visa support is already on the table.
Clarify Your Work Authorization Status Upfront
HonorHealth uses E-Verify for all new hires. Disclose your visa category clearly in your application. If you're on F-1 OPT, note your authorization end date so the recruiter can assess whether the H-1B filing timeline aligns with your remaining work period.
Understand How TN Status Applies to This Role
Canadian and Mexican nationals can qualify for TN status in a supporting healthcare role if the job duties and your credentials align with the approved TN occupation list. Confirm with HonorHealth's immigration team that the specific Medical Assistant role qualifies before assuming TN is available.
Prepare for a Competency-Based Interview Process
HonorHealth clinical interviews typically assess hands-on skills like phlebotomy, vitals, and EHR documentation alongside patient communication. Prepare concrete examples from prior clinical settings, since strong technical competency can directly influence a hiring manager's willingness to initiate sponsorship.

Find Medical Assistant at HonorHealth JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does HonorHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Medical Assistants?
HonorHealth has sponsored H-1B visas for healthcare roles including Medical Assistants. Sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis depending on hiring need and your qualifications. Because the H-1B requires a specialty occupation with a directly related degree, you'll need to confirm that the specific position and your educational background meet USCIS requirements before the employer initiates a petition.
How do I apply for Medical Assistant jobs at HonorHealth?
Applications go through HonorHealth's careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location across the Phoenix metro area. Migrate Mate also surfaces active HonorHealth Medical Assistant openings that include visa sponsorship, which lets you focus your search on positions where international candidates are already being considered. Tailor your resume to reflect the specific clinic or department you're applying to.
Which visa types does HonorHealth commonly use for Medical Assistant roles?
HonorHealth has worked with H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For entry-level Medical Assistant positions, F-1 OPT and TN are often the starting point, with H-1B or PERM-based Green Card sponsorship considered for candidates who demonstrate long-term fit within the organization.
What qualifications does HonorHealth expect for Medical Assistant candidates seeking sponsorship?
HonorHealth generally looks for completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program along with a relevant certification such as CMA or RMA. Experience with electronic health records, clinical procedures like phlebotomy and injections, and direct patient interaction strengthens your application. Bilingual candidates, particularly Spanish speakers, have an advantage in HonorHealth's patient population across the Phoenix area.
How do I plan my visa timeline when targeting a Medical Assistant role at HonorHealth?
If you're on F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. That gap means you need OPT authorization that bridges the period, or cap-exempt status won't apply. TN renewals are more flexible since they can be processed at the border or through USCIS without an annual cap, making TN a lower-risk option if your nationality qualifies.
