Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B approval for Engineering roles hinges on USCIS finding the position a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree. Review your transcripts and ensure your degree field maps directly to the Engineering role you're targeting at Huntington, not just broadly to technology.
Target Huntington's technology transformation hiring cycles
Huntington has been expanding its digital banking infrastructure, which drives recurring Engineering openings. Focus your applications during Q4 and Q1 when budget cycles typically open new headcount, giving you the best timing alignment with sponsorship-eligible roles.
Confirm the role sits under a sponsoring business unit
Not every Engineering opening at a large bank automatically comes with sponsorship. During early recruiter conversations, ask directly whether the specific team has sponsored candidates before and whether the role has been approved for H-1B or TN filing.
Prepare for the LCA prevailing wage review early
Before Huntington can file your H-1B petition, they must certify a Labor Condition Application with DOL confirming your salary meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Understanding this step helps you evaluate offers against wage level requirements without surprises.
Browse open Engineering roles on Migrate Mate

Find Engineering at Huntington National Bank JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Huntington National Bank sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Huntington National Bank sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Engineering roles. Sponsorship is tied to specific positions rather than being blanket company policy, so confirm with the recruiter early that the team you're interviewing with has budget and approval to file. Roles in software engineering and technology infrastructure are among the most commonly sponsored functions.
Which visa types does Huntington National Bank commonly use for Engineering roles?
Huntington National Bank sponsors H-1B visas for most Engineering positions. They also support F-1 OPT, which lets you start working before an H-1B petition is filed, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Huntington has also filed under EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Huntington National Bank?
Apply directly through Huntington's careers portal and filter by Engineering or Technology. Tailor your resume to reflect specific technical skills referenced in the job description, since Huntington's Engineering roles often require hands-on experience with financial systems, cloud infrastructure, or application development. You can also find sponsorship-eligible Engineering openings at Huntington through Migrate Mate, which filters for employers with a verified sponsorship track record.
What qualifications does Huntington National Bank expect for Engineering candidates needing sponsorship?
Most Engineering roles at Huntington require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. USCIS requires the degree to directly relate to the job duties for H-1B specialty occupation classification, so generalist degrees can create complications. Relevant experience in financial services technology, secure systems development, or banking platforms strengthens both your application and the sponsorship petition.
How do I time my application to account for H-1B filing deadlines?
The H-1B cap registration window opens each March, with employment starting October 1 if selected. If you're targeting Huntington for an H-1B role, aim to have an offer finalized by February so your employer can register you in the lottery. If you're already on OPT or OPT STEM extension, Huntington can onboard you immediately and file in the next available registration cycle.
