Align your portfolio to financial AI use cases
JPMorganChase evaluates Applied AI Engineers on production-grade ML experience, not research projects. Frame your work around deployed models, latency-sensitive inference, or risk-related applications rather than academic benchmarks.
Target teams with active LCA filings
Use DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify which JPMorganChase business lines filed Labor Condition Applications for AI engineering roles recently. Teams with recent LCA activity have active hiring pipelines and established sponsorship workflows.
Prepare credential equivalency documentation in advance
JPMorganChase's legal team will assess whether your degree meets specialty occupation requirements. If your computer science or engineering degree is from a non-U.S. institution, a credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency strengthens your petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Applied AI Engineer roles at JPMorganChase
Sponsorship-confirmed job listings save you time when targeting a large employer like JPMorganChase. Migrate Mate filters specifically for visa-sponsoring roles, so you can focus your applications on positions already confirmed for sponsorship.
Understand internal transfer timing for H-1B holders
If you're transferring an existing H-1B to JPMorganChase, your new employer can file a portability petition while you work. USCIS portability rules allow you to start before approval, but JPMorganChase's HR team will need your prior I-797 receipt notice.

Find Applied AI Engineer at JPMorganChase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Applied AI Engineers?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Applied AI Engineers. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. JPMorganChase also sponsors H-1B1 and E-3 visas for nationals of Singapore, Chile, and Australia respectively, which bypass the annual H-1B lottery.
How do I apply for Applied AI Engineer jobs at JPMorganChase?
Applications go through JPMorganChase's careers portal at jpmorganchase.com. Search for Applied AI Engineer or related ML engineering titles filtered by technology or corporate functions. Migrate Mate also lists open Applied AI Engineer roles at JPMorganChase with confirmed sponsorship, making it easier to identify active positions before applying directly.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Applied AI Engineer roles?
JPMorganChase uses H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and sponsors Green Card petitions via EB-2 and EB-3 categories for this function. Australians on E-3 and Singapore or Chile nationals on H-1B1 are often prioritized by recruiters because those categories have no lottery and faster processing compared to the standard H-1B cap.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Applied AI Engineer roles?
JPMorganChase typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience building and deploying ML models in production environments is weighted heavily. Familiarity with large language models, MLOps pipelines, or financial data applications is a practical differentiator for roles in their AI research and technology divisions.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at a large employer like JPMorganChase?
For new H-1B cap-subject petitions, the timeline depends on the USCIS lottery in March and a standard October 1 start date. From offer to start, expect six to nine months. JPMorganChase's in-house immigration team handles filings, but premium processing, which USCIS processes within 15 business days, is available and sometimes used to confirm approval faster.
