Target faculty and academic support roles
Kenyon College's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and instructional roles. Focus your search on faculty positions, research appointments, and specialized staff roles where international candidates with advanced degrees are most likely to be considered for H-1B sponsorship.
Understand Kenyon's H-1B and Green Card pathways
Kenyon sponsors both H-1B and permanent residence visas, including EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If you're targeting long-term employment, ask during the hiring process about their track record supporting faculty through the transition from temporary to immigrant visa status.
Align your credentials with liberal arts priorities
As a liberal arts college, Kenyon values interdisciplinary expertise and teaching excellence. Applicants with advanced degrees in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, or the arts are better positioned for roles that historically support visa sponsorship at institutions like Kenyon.
Engage with the hiring department early
At small liberal arts colleges like Kenyon, hiring decisions are closely tied to individual departments. Reaching out to department chairs before applying signals genuine interest and gives you an early opportunity to surface the visa sponsorship conversation with decision-makers.
Time your application around the academic hiring cycle
Higher education hiring at Kenyon largely follows an academic calendar, with most faculty searches opening in the fall for positions starting the following year. Applying early in the cycle gives you the best chance of a thorough review and time to address sponsorship logistics.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring roles
Kenyon College's sponsorship history is verifiable, but open roles aren't always easy to surface. Migrate Mate lists employers with confirmed sponsorship track records, so you can filter specifically for Kenyon and similar institutions without wasting time on employers who don't sponsor.

Find Kenyon College JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Kenyon College sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Kenyon College sponsors H-1B visas. The college has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for faculty and specialized staff in academic roles. If you're applying for a position that requires a specific degree in a relevant field, Kenyon is a legitimate H-1B sponsoring employer worth targeting in the higher education sector.
What types of visas does Kenyon College sponsor?
Kenyon College sponsors H-1B visas for temporary work authorization and supports permanent residence through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. This makes Kenyon a meaningful option for international candidates seeking both short-term sponsorship and a longer-term path to permanent residency through academic employment in the United States.
Which roles or departments at Kenyon College are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Kenyon College tends to be concentrated in faculty and instructional roles across its academic departments, including sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Specialized staff positions that require advanced or discipline-specific qualifications may also be eligible. Roles requiring a generic degree rather than field-specific expertise are less likely to support H-1B sponsorship.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Kenyon College?
The most reliable approach is to use Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with verified sponsorship histories so you can browse open roles at Kenyon College and similar institutions without guessing about eligibility. Kenyon also posts faculty and staff openings through its own careers page, and positions are often listed through academic discipline-specific job boards in fields like the humanities and sciences.
How do I approach the visa sponsorship conversation when applying to Kenyon College?
Raise the sponsorship question after you've established fit, ideally once you've been invited to interview or received early interest from the hiring department. Frame it practically: confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, ask whether the college has worked with immigration counsel before, and clarify the timeline. At small colleges like Kenyon, HR and department leadership often collaborate closely on these decisions.
