Frame your credentials around client-facing advisory work
Kroll's Business Development roles sit at the intersection of financial services and risk consulting. Tailor your resume to show experience engaging institutional clients, not just closing deals, since their BD hires typically support complex advisory mandates in investment and asset management.
Target Kroll's practice areas before applying
Kroll organizes BD hiring around specific practices like valuation, restructuring, and cyber risk. Identifying which practice area aligns with your background and explicitly naming it in your application signals you understand the firm's structure and are not applying generically.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization early in conversations
If you're on F-1 status, confirm whether your authorized period covers the full onboarding timeline before your first interview. Kroll has hired under F-1 OPT and CPT, but gaps between authorization end dates and start dates have caused offer complications for BD candidates.
Understand how H-1B cap timing affects your offer window
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you're interviewing between January and March, have a direct conversation with Kroll's HR team about whether they can meet that USCIS filing deadline before you exit your current status.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Kroll's open BD roles with sponsorship
Filtering for roles by company and visa type saves time when you're targeting a specific employer. Use Migrate Mate to find current Business Development openings at Kroll that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions already flagged as eligible.
Prepare for PERM if you're planning a long-term path at Kroll
Kroll sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. For BD roles, this process requires documenting minimum requirements at the time of hire, so avoid informal promotions or role changes before PERM is filed.

Does Kroll sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Kroll sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company has filed H-1B petitions across multiple functions in the investment and risk advisory space. If you're a cap-subject applicant, your offer timing matters, since USCIS requires petitions to be filed in April for an October 1 start. Confirm the filing timeline with Kroll's HR team early in the interview process.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Kroll?
Applications go through Kroll's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and location. For international candidates, the most efficient approach is to use Migrate Mate to browse Kroll's open Business Development positions that include visa sponsorship before applying directly. Tailor your application to the specific practice area, such as valuation services or restructuring advisory, rather than applying broadly across all BD openings.
Which visa types does Kroll commonly use for Business Development roles?
Kroll sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization path for Business Development hires and supports EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card petitions for longer-term employees. The company also hires under F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 status, making it accessible to candidates at different stages of their immigration journey.
What qualifications does Kroll look for in Business Development candidates?
Kroll's BD roles in the investment and asset management space typically require a background in financial services, consulting, or risk advisory, along with demonstrated experience engaging institutional clients. An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or business is a baseline expectation. Candidates with CFA credentials or prior experience selling advisory services to private equity or asset management firms tend to be more competitive.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Kroll BD role?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B cap petitions follow a fixed USCIS calendar, with a filing window in April and work authorization beginning October 1. TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals can be processed at the border with same-day approval. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves a DOL labor certification process that typically runs 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing.
