- Trend Analysis: Use quantitative and qualitative techniques to identify patterns in student career readiness and employer engagement, disseminating insights to internal and external stakeholders.

- Staff Development: Serve as the primary technical support for Career Center staff; design and deliver training for new software and system updates.
- ITS Liaison: Act as the division’s key point of contact with Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure data security, system integration, and innovative technical practices.

Focus on faculty and research roles
Lafayette College's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and research positions. Target open roles in departments where specialized expertise is required, as these are most likely to support H-1B or TN visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
Understand the academic hiring calendar
Higher education hiring at Lafayette College follows a structured annual cycle. Faculty searches typically open in the fall for the following academic year, so planning your application well in advance gives you the best chance of landing a sponsored position.
Highlight specialized credentials in your application
Lafayette prioritizes candidates with advanced degrees and niche expertise. Clearly connecting your qualifications to a specific departmental need strengthens your sponsorship case, since colleges sponsor visas when no comparably qualified domestic candidate is available.
Ask about sponsorship early but professionally
In higher education hiring, visa sponsorship questions fit naturally into early conversations with department chairs or HR. Raising it before the offer stage ensures both sides align on feasibility before investing heavily in the interview process.
Know which visa types Lafayette supports
Lafayette College sponsors H-1B visas and supports F-1 OPT extensions, along with TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. Knowing which category fits your background lets you frame your eligibility clearly when speaking with their hiring team.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified openings
Not every job posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, making it easier to identify Lafayette College roles that are genuinely open to international candidates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lafayette College sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Lafayette College sponsors H-1B visas. The college's sponsorship activity is primarily concentrated in faculty, research, and specialized staff positions where candidates hold advanced degrees in a specific field. If you're applying to a role that requires niche academic expertise, H-1B sponsorship is a realistic conversation to have with their HR team.
What types of visas does Lafayette College sponsor?
Lafayette College sponsors H-1B visas and supports candidates on F-1 OPT, including those using the STEM OPT extension. TN visa holders who are Canadian or Mexican nationals may also be eligible for certain roles. Green Card sponsorship is not a consistent part of Lafayette's track record, so it's worth clarifying directly with HR if that's your long-term goal.
Which departments or roles at Lafayette College are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Lafayette College tends to align with positions requiring specialized academic credentials, particularly faculty appointments and research-oriented roles across STEM and social science departments. Administrative or general staff positions are less commonly sponsored. If you're targeting a tenure-track or visiting faculty role, sponsorship is a more routine part of the hiring conversation.
How do I find open jobs at Lafayette College that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Lafayette College roles verified for visa sponsorship. Rather than guessing which listings are open to international candidates, Migrate Mate filters by real sponsorship history so you can apply with confidence. Lafayette's own careers portal is also worth checking, particularly for faculty searches posted in the fall semester.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting a sponsored role at Lafayette College?
Higher education hiring moves on a fixed academic calendar. Faculty positions typically open in September through November for roles starting the following August or September. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, employers must file by April 1 for an October 1 start date, so roles posted after January may be tight on timing. Starting your search early in the fall gives you the most viable window.
