Understand the visa types LVC supports
LVC sponsors employment-based Green Cards and accepts F-1 OPT and CPT students for practical training. If you're on OPT, a role here could be a legitimate bridge while longer-term sponsorship options are explored with the institution's HR team.
Engage early with the HR and international office
Smaller colleges like LVC make sponsorship decisions case by case. Reaching out to Human Resources or the International Student Office early signals intent and gives you a clearer picture of whether a specific role supports visa sponsorship before you invest time in applying.
Position yourself around departmental fit, not just credentials
At a small liberal arts college, hiring committees prioritize candidates who align with institutional values and teaching philosophy. Tailor your application to LVC's academic culture, sponsorship decisions are often tied to how indispensable a candidate appears to a specific department.
Know that TN status may be available for Canadian and Mexican applicants
