Target hardware and engineering roles

Understand which visa types Lightera supports
Lightera has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, CPT, and TN visas. If you're on OPT or CPT, you may be able to start without waiting for an H-1B, ask the recruiter early about which authorization pathways the team typically uses.
Start the conversation about sponsorship early
With a focused sponsorship footprint, Lightera's hiring decisions often involve deliberate planning. Raise visa sponsorship in your first recruiter call, it signals you're organized and gives the team time to assess feasibility before investing in the full process.
Highlight hands-on hardware experience
Lightera competes for niche technical talent. Emphasize specific experience with electronics prototyping, PCB design, firmware, or hardware testing in your resume and interviews, the more closely your background maps to their product, the stronger the sponsorship case.
