Target roles in RF, microwave, and analog engineering
MACOM's core business revolves around high-frequency semiconductor design. Engineers with backgrounds in RF, microwave, or analog IC design align directly with the technical roles where the company has historically pursued long-term immigration sponsorship.
Understand that MACOM leans toward permanent residence pathways
MACOM's sponsorship activity skews toward Green Card pathways rather than temporary work visas. If you're already authorized to work in the U.S. and seeking employer-sponsored permanent residence, MACOM is worth targeting seriously.
Prioritize EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility before applying
MACOM sponsors under EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Understand which category fits your credentials, EB-2 requires advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Focus on defense and data center product lines
MACOM serves defense, telecom, and data center segments with specialized semiconductor solutions. Roles tied to these verticals tend to require highly specific technical expertise, exactly the profile that supports a strong Green Card sponsorship case.
Look for openings at sites with active engineering teams
MACOM operates engineering sites across the U.S. When searching for sponsored roles, filter specifically for engineering and R&D positions. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history rather than guessing from job descriptions.
Position your application around specialized, hard-to-fill skills
MACOM's sponsorship is concentrated in technical roles requiring niche expertise. Emphasize specialized skills, compound semiconductor fabrication, power amplifier design, photonics, to strengthen the case that your role qualifies for employer-sponsored immigration support.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does MACOM Technology Solutions sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, MACOM Technology Solutions' immigration activity has focused on Green Card sponsorship rather than H-1B visas. If you're seeking an employer to sponsor a new H-1B petition, MACOM may not be the right fit. However, if you already hold valid work authorization and are looking for an employer willing to support permanent residence, MACOM is worth pursuing.
What visa types does MACOM Technology Solutions sponsor?
MACOM Technology Solutions sponsors employment-based Green Cards, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. EB-2 is typically used for roles requiring an advanced degree or demonstrating exceptional ability in a field. EB-3 covers positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Both pathways involve PERM labor certification, which means a longer overall timeline compared to temporary visa sponsorship.
Which departments or roles at MACOM Technology Solutions are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at MACOM is concentrated in engineering and R&D functions, particularly roles tied to RF and microwave design, analog integrated circuits, compound semiconductors, and photonics. These are highly specialized disciplines where qualified candidates are scarce, making employer-sponsored immigration a practical necessity. Roles in firmware, systems engineering, and product development supporting defense or data center product lines also tend to align with sponsored positions.
How do I find currently open sponsored roles at MACOM Technology Solutions?
The most reliable approach is to use a platform that tracks verified sponsorship history rather than relying on job descriptions, which rarely mention visa sponsorship directly. Migrate Mate lets you browse open roles at MACOM and other electronics and hardware companies with confirmed Green Card sponsorship activity, saving significant research time. Filter by employer, visa type, or industry to identify the best-matched opportunities.
How long does the Green Card sponsorship process typically take at a company like MACOM Technology Solutions?
Employer-sponsored Green Cards through EB-2 or EB-3 involve multiple stages: PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor (roughly 12 to 18 months), followed by an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, and finally adjustment of status or consular processing. For applicants born in high-demand countries like India or China, priority date backlogs can significantly extend the total timeline beyond the initial filing stages. Starting early and maintaining continuous employment are both critical.
