Target roles that align with your visa category
Mayer Brown sponsors H-1B, TN, and Green Card pathways, with most sponsorship concentrated in attorney and professional staff roles. Focus your applications on positions where your degree and specialty directly match the job requirements to strengthen your petition.
Apply well before H-1B cap season
H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. For a firm like Mayer Brown, begin your application conversations in late fall or early winter to leave time for offer letters, LCA filing, and petition preparation.
Highlight specialty occupation credentials clearly
Law firms require that sponsored roles meet the specialty occupation standard. Make sure your resume and cover letter explicitly connect your degree field to the specific legal or professional function you'll perform, this directly supports the H-1B or TN petition narrative.

Find Mayer Brown JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Mayer Brown sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Mayer Brown sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in legal and professional staff positions that meet the specialty occupation standard. Candidates should ensure their degree field aligns with the role they are applying for. The firm has a consistent history of H-1B sponsorship, making it a credible option for international candidates targeting U.S. law firm careers.
Which visa types does Mayer Brown sponsor?
Mayer Brown sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation roles, Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, and work authorization for F-1 students through OPT and CPT programs. The firm's sponsorship spans both attorney tracks and professional support functions, giving international candidates several potential pathways.
Which departments or roles at Mayer Brown are most likely to be sponsored?
Sponsorship at Mayer Brown is most common in attorney positions, where specialty occupation requirements are clearly met, and in professional staff roles tied to legal operations, finance, or technology. Associates joining through summer programs or laterally from other firms have historically been strong candidates for H-1B and Green Card sponsorship. Roles where a specific degree is a hard requirement tend to have the clearest path to visa support.
How do I approach the application process at Mayer Brown as a visa-sponsored candidate?
Start by confirming the role explicitly requires sponsorship eligibility before applying. During interviews, be direct about your visa status and timeline, particularly if you are on OPT with a limited runway before the H-1B cap deadline. Mayer Brown's legal and HR teams are experienced with immigration processes, so raising sponsorship early in conversations is standard practice at firms of this size and is unlikely to disadvantage your candidacy.
How do I find open jobs at Mayer Brown that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find Mayer Brown roles that are open to visa-sponsored candidates. Rather than applying to general job listings and hoping the firm will sponsor, Migrate Mate filters opportunities by verified sponsorship history so you can focus on positions where international applicants have a realistic path to getting a visa supported.
