Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Technician Jobs at McKesson Jobs
Align your credentials to McKesson's requirements
McKesson Technician roles often require pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) or relevant technical licensing depending on the function. Verify your credentials translate under U.S. standards before applying, since licensing gaps can stall an H-1B petition mid-process.
Target McKesson's pharmacy and distribution roles
McKesson hires Technicians across pharmacy operations, distribution centers, and technology support divisions. Search specifically within these business units, since sponsorship willingness and the specialty occupation argument for H-1B purposes can differ significantly across functions.
Browse open Technician roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter McKesson's active Technician openings by visa type. This lets you prioritize roles where H-1B or E-3 sponsorship has already been confirmed, cutting out listings where sponsorship eligibility is ambiguous.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
McKesson must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS. Ask your recruiter where this stands in the timeline. An LCA certification can take up to seven business days and delays the full petition filing if overlooked.
Document specialty occupation evidence for your role
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for Technician titles, since the specialty occupation threshold requires a directly related bachelor's degree. Gather job descriptions, degree transcripts, and any professional certifications that connect your academic background to the specific technical duties in your offer letter.

Find Technician at McKesson JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does McKesson sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, McKesson sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles, particularly within pharmacy operations and healthcare technology functions. Sponsorship is most straightforward when the role meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the position typically requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Confirming this requirement is listed in your job description strengthens the petition before it's filed.
Which visa types does McKesson commonly use for Technician roles?
McKesson sponsors H-1B visas most commonly for Technician positions. Australian citizens are also eligible for E-3 sponsorship, which avoids the annual H-1B lottery and has a separate annual allocation that has never been exhausted. For longer-term pathways, McKesson has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for employees transitioning from temporary work status.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at McKesson?
You can browse and apply for Technician roles at McKesson directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific technical function, whether pharmacy operations, distribution, or IT support, and address the degree requirement relevant to an H-1B specialty occupation filing in your application materials.
What qualifications does McKesson expect for sponsored Technician roles?
McKesson generally expects relevant technical education at the bachelor's level for visa-sponsored Technician positions, since this underpins the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. Pharmacy Technician roles may also require CPhT certification or state-specific licensure. For IT or supply chain Technician positions, a degree in information systems, engineering technology, or a related field is typically required alongside relevant hands-on experience.
How do I understand the H-1B filing timeline for a McKesson Technician role?
McKesson must first obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, which takes up to seven business days, before filing your H-1B petition with USCIS. Standard USCIS processing can take several months, though premium processing reduces adjudication to around 15 business days. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, your start date will align with the October 1 fiscal year start, so offer timing matters significantly.
