Overview
The Business & Industry Copilot group (BIC) is a rapidly growing organization responsible for Microsoft Copilot Studio, the Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite of products, Microsoft Industry Solutions, and more. Microsoft is considered one of the leaders in Software as a Service in the world of business applications, and this organization is at the heart of how business applications are designed and delivered.
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Product Manager - Copilot Studio to join the Intelligent Actions team in Microsoft Copilot Studio!
This is an exciting time to be part of one of the fastest-moving areas at Microsoft. The Intelligent Actions team is at the forefront of making AI agents and workflows more capable for our customers. We build intelligent building blocks: agentic nodes, AI prompts, MCP integration, computer use (CUA), and more, that empower customers to create sophisticated agents and automations in Copilot Studio. Our work directly shapes how businesses harness AI to transform their operations.
This is a PM role for the age of AI. You will not just write specs, you will build prototypes, experiment with emerging AI capabilities hands-on, and bring a builder's mindset to product development. If you are someone who is energized by getting your hands dirty with AI tools, constructing proof-of-concepts, and turning novel technology into products that customers love, this team is for you.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap for intelligent actions and agentic capabilities in Copilot Studio. Define the vision, prioritize investments, and align the roadmap with customer needs, market trends, and Microsoft's broader AI strategy. Translate complex technical AI concepts into clear product value for customers and stakeholders.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration. Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Product Marketing, and partner teams to deliver high-quality experiences from ideation through general availability. Foster cooperative relationships across organizations to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Deeply understand customers and the market. Use both quantitative signals (usage telemetry, engagement metrics) and qualitative insights (customer interviews, feedback channels, industry analysis) to identify unmet needs and opportunities. Apply AI-powered research and analysis to uncover patterns, anticipate customer preferences, and inform product strategy.
- Build and prototype with AI. Go beyond traditional product management, use AI tools to independently create MVPs, proof-of-concepts, and prototypes that explore new interaction patterns for agent experiences. Leverage generative AI to rapidly test product hypotheses before committing engineering resources.
- Take products to market with impact. Develop go-to-market strategies for new capabilities, collaborating with Product Marketing and Business Planning on release criteria, customer acquisition, and adoption plans. Evangelize intelligent action features through presentations, blog posts, customer briefings, and industry events.
- Measure, learn, and iterate. Define success metrics (OKRs, KPIs) for your feature areas, monitor product performance, and use data-driven insights to continuously refine the product. Understand cost structures and profitability drivers to make informed investment tradeoffs.
- Champion responsible AI. Ensure that AI-driven features meet quality, security, privacy, and ethical standards. Integrate security considerations into product design and proactively mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 4+ years of experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding usage, improving retention).
- 4+ years of experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, displacing an established competing product).
- Hands-on experience building with AI tools, agent frameworks, or low-code/no-code platforms, a builder's mindset is valued.

Frame your M&A experience around U.S. deal structures
Microsoft's corporate development team works on domestic and cross-border transactions under U.S. securities and tax frameworks. Highlight exposure to U.S. GAAP, DCF modeling, and buy-side due diligence so your resume signals readiness for U.S. deal work from day one.
Target Microsoft's business development recruiting cycles
Microsoft typically backfills Corporate Development Manager roles on a rolling basis tied to business unit headcount approvals, not fixed annual cohorts. Monitor Microsoft Careers directly and set up role alerts, since these positions rarely stay open longer than a few weeks.
Understand which visa category fits your passport
Microsoft sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas for professional roles. Australian citizens qualify for the E-3, which carries no lottery and faster processing. Singaporean and Chilean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1. Knowing your category before interviews lets you discuss timelines with your recruiter accurately.
Confirm your specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for Corporate Development roles because the title spans a wide scope of duties. Have your academic transcripts and any CFA or MBA credentials ready to establish that your specific role requires a specialized degree, not just general business acumen.
Ask about H-1B cap timing during the offer stage
If you're not already on a transferable H-1B, a new cap-subject petition must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Raise this timeline with your Microsoft recruiter before accepting an offer so both parties can plan around the USCIS registration window opening in March.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles with confirmed sponsorship
Filtering corporate development roles by visa type saves significant time when you're targeting Microsoft specifically. Migrate Mate's job board surfaces Microsoft postings that include confirmed sponsorship, so you can apply to roles where sponsorship is already on the table rather than discovering eligibility late in the process.

Find Corporate Development Manager at Microsoft JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Microsoft sponsor H-1B visas for Corporate Development Managers?
Yes, Microsoft sponsors H-1B visas for Corporate Development Manager roles. Because the position involves specialized financial analysis, M&A strategy, and deal execution, it generally qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. If you're not already on an active H-1B, timing around the annual cap registration window in March is critical to plan with your recruiter before accepting an offer.
Which visa types does Microsoft commonly use for Corporate Development Manager roles?
Microsoft sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for professional roles including Corporate Development Managers, as well as immigrant visa pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term sponsorship. Australian citizens are strong candidates for the E-3 route, which bypasses the H-1B lottery. Singaporean and Chilean passport holders may qualify for the H-1B1, which also avoids the annual cap.
How do I apply for Corporate Development Manager jobs at Microsoft?
Applications go through Microsoft Careers at careers.microsoft.com. Search for Corporate Development Manager or related titles under the Finance and Strategy category. Tailor your resume to highlight M&A transaction experience, financial modeling, and any cross-functional integration work. You can also browse open Microsoft roles with confirmed visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you can focus your search efficiently.
What qualifications does Microsoft typically expect for Corporate Development Manager candidates?
Microsoft generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field, often supplemented by an MBA or CFA. Hands-on experience in investment banking, private equity, or in-house M&A is strongly preferred. Familiarity with technology sector deal dynamics, integration planning, and cross-border transaction structures gives candidates a meaningful edge over general finance applicants.
How do I understand the visa filing timeline once Microsoft extends an offer?
Timeline depends on your current status. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, Microsoft can file a portability transfer and you can start relatively quickly after USCIS receives the petition. For new cap-subject H-1B cases, USCIS registration opens in March and approved petitions have an October 1 start date. The DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before the H-1B petition is submitted, which typically adds two to four weeks to preparation.
