Overview
The Business & Industry Copilot group (BIC) is a rapidly growing organization responsible for Microsoft Copilot Studio, the Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite of products, Microsoft Industry Solutions, and more. Microsoft is considered one of the leaders in Software as a Service in the world of business applications, and this organization is at the heart of how business applications are designed and delivered.
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Product Manager - Copilot Studio to join the Intelligent Actions team in Microsoft Copilot Studio!
This is an exciting time to be part of one of the fastest-moving areas at Microsoft. The Intelligent Actions team is at the forefront of making AI agents and workflows more capable for our customers. We build intelligent building blocks: agentic nodes, AI prompts, MCP integration, computer use (CUA), and more, that empower customers to create sophisticated agents and automations in Copilot Studio. Our work directly shapes how businesses harness AI to transform their operations.
This is a PM role for the age of AI. You will not just write specs, you will build prototypes, experiment with emerging AI capabilities hands-on, and bring a builder's mindset to product development. If you are someone who is energized by getting your hands dirty with AI tools, constructing proof-of-concepts, and turning novel technology into products that customers love, this team is for you.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap for intelligent actions and agentic capabilities in Copilot Studio. Define the vision, prioritize investments, and align the roadmap with customer needs, market trends, and Microsoft's broader AI strategy. Translate complex technical AI concepts into clear product value for customers and stakeholders.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration. Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Product Marketing, and partner teams to deliver high-quality experiences from ideation through general availability. Foster cooperative relationships across organizations to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Deeply understand customers and the market. Use both quantitative signals (usage telemetry, engagement metrics) and qualitative insights (customer interviews, feedback channels, industry analysis) to identify unmet needs and opportunities. Apply AI-powered research and analysis to uncover patterns, anticipate customer preferences, and inform product strategy.
- Build and prototype with AI. Go beyond traditional product management, use AI tools to independently create MVPs, proof-of-concepts, and prototypes that explore new interaction patterns for agent experiences. Leverage generative AI to rapidly test product hypotheses before committing engineering resources.
- Take products to market with impact. Develop go-to-market strategies for new capabilities, collaborating with Product Marketing and Business Planning on release criteria, customer acquisition, and adoption plans. Evangelize intelligent action features through presentations, blog posts, customer briefings, and industry events.
- Measure, learn, and iterate. Define success metrics (OKRs, KPIs) for your feature areas, monitor product performance, and use data-driven insights to continuously refine the product. Understand cost structures and profitability drivers to make informed investment tradeoffs.
- Champion responsible AI. Ensure that AI-driven features meet quality, security, privacy, and ethical standards. Integrate security considerations into product design and proactively mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 4+ years of experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding usage, improving retention).
- 4+ years of experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, displacing an established competing product).
- Hands-on experience building with AI tools, agent frameworks, or low-code/no-code platforms, a builder's mindset is valued.

Frame Your PM Experience Around Microsoft Products
Microsoft evaluates Product Owners on cross-functional leadership and roadmap ownership within large-scale software ecosystems. Tailor your resume to show experience with enterprise platforms, cloud services, or developer tools that map directly to Microsoft's product portfolio.
Identify Which Microsoft Division Is Hiring
Product Owner roles vary significantly across Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics. Target divisions aligned with your domain expertise, since hiring managers and sponsorship approval often sit at the business unit level, not centrally with corporate HR.
Confirm Sponsorship Intent Before Final Interviews
Microsoft's recruiting process for Product Owners includes a loop interview with multiple stakeholders. Before reaching offer stage, confirm with your recruiter that the specific role and headcount are approved for visa sponsorship to avoid late-stage surprises.
Prepare Your LCA Documentation Before Offer Acceptance
Microsoft files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B or E-3 petition to USCIS. Ensure your job title, work location, and prevailing wage classification are accurate on the LCA, as corrections after filing can delay your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles
Filtering for sponsoring employers by role is faster than applying broadly. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Product Owner openings at Microsoft and identify which positions are actively sponsoring your visa type before you invest time in the application process.

Find Product Owner at Microsoft JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Microsoft sponsor H-1B visas for Product Owners?
Yes, Microsoft sponsors H-1B visas for Product Owner roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B lottery registration each March and files cap-subject petitions for selected candidates. If you're an Australian citizen, Microsoft also sponsors E-3 visas for this function, which bypasses the lottery entirely and can be pursued year-round.
How do I apply for Product Owner jobs at Microsoft?
Apply through Microsoft's careers site or use Migrate Mate to browse verified Product Owner openings filtered by visa sponsorship type. Microsoft's hiring process for this role typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical or case-style assessment, and a multi-round loop interview with cross-functional stakeholders. Confirm sponsorship availability with your recruiter early in the process.
Which visa types does Microsoft commonly sponsor for Product Owner roles?
Microsoft sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas for Product Owners at the nonimmigrant level. For permanent residence, the company supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, typically initiated after you've been with the company for a qualifying period. The right visa depends on your nationality, your degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Microsoft expect for Product Owner roles?
Microsoft typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience driving product roadmaps in a software or cloud environment. Roles within Azure or Microsoft 365 often weight technical fluency heavily. Prior experience working with agile teams and cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, design, and marketing is consistently expected.
How do I understand the timeline from offer to work authorization at Microsoft?
For H-1B, the standard path runs from April lottery registration to an October 1 start date, though premium processing with USCIS can accelerate the approval decision to roughly 15 business days once the petition is filed. E-3 applicants can move faster since there's no lottery. Your Microsoft immigration team coordinates directly with outside counsel to manage DOL LCA certification and USCIS filing on your behalf.
