Frame your background in scientific domain knowledge
Product Owner candidates at Thermo Fisher are expected to understand laboratory workflows, instrument software, or diagnostic platforms. Tailor your resume to show direct experience with science-adjacent products, not just generic Agile delivery.
Target divisions with active product development cycles
Thermo Fisher's Life Sciences Solutions and Analytical Instruments divisions tend to have the most active Product Owner pipelines. Searching by business unit, not just job title, helps you find roles where sponsorship is more common.
Understand how TN fits Product Owner roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals sometimes qualify for TN status under the Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer category, but USCIS scrutinizes these classifications. Confirm with your employer that the specific Product Owner duties align before pursuing this path.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Product Owner roles by sponsorship type
Not every open role at Thermo Fisher includes sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions where visa support is confirmed, saving you from pursuing listings that won't move forward for international applicants.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting a Green Card
Thermo Fisher supports EB-2 and EB-3 pathways for Product Owners, but PERM labor certification requires your employer to document a formal recruitment process. Ask your recruiter about the company's standard timeline so you're not caught off guard during offer negotiations.

Find Product Owner at Thermo Fisher Scientific JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsor H-1B visas for Product Owners?
Yes, Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsors H-1B visas for Product Owner roles. The company has a consistent pattern of filing H-1B petitions for product and technology professionals across its scientific and diagnostic divisions. Because H-1B is subject to the annual lottery, your employer would need to submit a registration in March for an October 1 start date, so timing your offer accordingly matters.
How do I apply for Product Owner jobs at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
You can apply directly through Thermo Fisher's careers portal, but roles move quickly and sponsorship eligibility isn't always clearly flagged. Migrate Mate lets you browse open Product Owner positions at Thermo Fisher filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify which listings are realistic for your immigration status before applying.
Which visa types does Thermo Fisher Scientific commonly use for Product Owner roles?
Thermo Fisher sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Product Owner positions. H-1B is the most common long-term option. F-1 OPT and CPT are available for recent graduates during their authorized work period. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals when the role's duties fit an eligible USMCA occupation category.
What qualifications does Thermo Fisher Scientific expect for Product Owner roles?
Thermo Fisher typically looks for a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field, combined with hands-on experience managing product backlogs and working with engineering teams. Familiarity with laboratory informatics, diagnostic software, or life sciences workflows is a strong differentiator. Agile or SAFe certification helps, but demonstrated experience shipping products in regulated or science-adjacent environments carries more weight.
How do I think about timing when targeting a Product Owner role at Thermo Fisher with H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B has one annual filing window, with USCIS registration opening in March and cap-subject petitions taking effect October 1. If you receive an offer outside that window, Thermo Fisher can file for cap-exempt status if you've held H-1B before, or bridge your status using OPT or another nonimmigrant category. Discussing the timeline explicitly with your recruiter during the offer stage avoids gaps in work authorization.
