Frame your M&A experience for live commerce
Whatnot operates at the intersection of retail and marketplace technology. Before applying, reframe your deal sourcing, valuation, or integration experience around platform growth, seller ecosystem expansion, or consumer marketplace dynamics rather than traditional brick-and-mortar retail contexts.
Confirm your visa type before outreach
Whatnot sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Knowing which category fits your situation before contacting a recruiter helps you answer sponsorship questions clearly and signals you understand the filing process, which reduces perceived hiring friction.
Time applications around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need an H-1B and are not already cap-exempt, USCIS opens registration in March for the following October start date. Targeting Whatnot roles in January or February gives your recruiter enough runway to prepare the registration before the window closes.
Highlight cross-functional leadership in your materials
Corporate Development at Whatnot requires close coordination with legal, finance, and product teams. Resumes and cover letters that demonstrate your ability to lead cross-functional deal processes tend to move faster through recruiting screens for this specific function.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship status
Corporate Development Manager openings at Whatnot can be hard to track across generic job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship-eligible roles at Whatnot directly, so you apply only to positions where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Prepare your credentials for PERM labor certification early
If Whatnot pursues EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your role, DOL requires a PERM labor certification before the immigrant visa petition. Gathering foreign degree equivalency assessments and prior employer verification letters in advance prevents delays once the process begins.

Does Whatnot sponsor H-1B visas for Corporate Development Managers?
Yes, Whatnot sponsors H-1B visas for Corporate Development Manager roles. Corporate development is a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which makes H-1B eligibility straightforward for candidates with a relevant bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business, or a related field. Sponsorship availability can vary by role and hiring cycle, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is practical.
Which visa types does Whatnot commonly sponsor for Corporate Development Manager roles?
Whatnot sponsors several visa categories for this function, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Whatnot has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and career stage.
What qualifications does Whatnot expect for Corporate Development Manager positions?
Whatnot typically looks for candidates with a background in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or management consulting, along with direct experience in deal execution, financial modeling, and market analysis. Experience in marketplace businesses, consumer technology, or retail platforms is a strong differentiator. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is common among candidates who progress through the interview process.
How do I apply for Corporate Development Manager jobs at Whatnot?
You can find and apply for Corporate Development Manager roles at Whatnot through Migrate Mate, which lists verified visa-sponsorship-eligible openings at Whatnot in one place. When applying, tailor your materials to Whatnot's live commerce model and be ready to discuss your deal experience and cross-functional leadership early in the recruiter screen. Indicating your visa type and authorization status upfront reduces back-and-forth.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Whatnot to sponsor my visa for a Corporate Development Manager role?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. E-3 and TN sponsorship can move quickly, often within a few weeks of an offer. H-1B sponsorship tied to the annual cap requires registration in March with an October 1 start date, so offers made mid-year for cap-subject candidates typically involve a waiting period. F-1 OPT allows work authorization for up to 12 months, or 36 months with a STEM extension, giving more near-term flexibility.
