The School of Art and Creative Media invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Painting & Drawing position beginning August 2026. This position requires the ability, knowledge, and experience to teach beginning and advanced processes/techniques in painting and drawing.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include teaching at least two sections of drawing and painting with students earning credit at different levels within the section. Additional responsibilities include supervision and maintenance of the drawing and painting studios, teaching canvas building, purchasing supplies, mentorship of senior BFA exhibitions, and sophomore/senior reviews. Courses will be taught in person using the painting and drawing studios. In addition to an office, this faculty member will be provided with studio space on campus.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- MA or MFA degree in studio art
- Demonstrated teaching experience in drawing and painting at the college level
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Practicing artist who is exhibiting their work
- Commitment to developing and maintaining an ongoing professional artistic career
