Translate your credentials into healthcare contract terms
MyMichigan Health operates under Michigan health system compliance requirements. Frame your contract administration experience around healthcare-specific deliverables: vendor due diligence, CMS-related service agreements, or supply chain contracts, not just general procurement or legal support work.
Target openings aligned with your visa timeline
Contract Administrator roles at MyMichigan Health are posted frequently. If you're on OPT with fewer than six months remaining, prioritize roles that list a start date giving your employer enough runway to file your H-1B petition before your authorization expires.
Prepare a specialty occupation summary before interviewing
H-1B approval for Contract Administrator roles depends on establishing specialty occupation status. Document how your role requires a specific bachelor's degree, such as healthcare administration, business, or law, and be ready to explain this connection clearly to the HR team before an offer is extended.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter for Contract Administrator openings at healthcare systems with a confirmed H-1B sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces MyMichigan Health roles alongside employer sponsorship data, so you can apply to positions where sponsorship is already established rather than negotiating it from scratch.
Verify your I-94 status before the offer stage
Before MyMichigan Health's HR team initiates a petition through USCIS, confirm your current I-94 admission record is accurate at cbp.dhs.gov. Discrepancies between your I-94 and passport or prior visa stamps can delay or derail an otherwise clean H-1B filing.
Ask specifically about cap-exempt filing eligibility
MyMichigan Health is a nonprofit health system, which may qualify it as a cap-exempt H-1B employer under USCIS rules. If confirmed, your petition could be filed outside the annual lottery, removing the single biggest uncertainty in your sponsorship timeline.

Does MyMichigan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Contract Administrators?
Yes, MyMichigan Health sponsors H-1B visas for Contract Administrator roles. As a nonprofit health system, it may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filing status under USCIS rules, which would allow petitions to be submitted outside the annual lottery. Confirm this with the HR or legal team during the offer stage, since cap-exempt eligibility depends on the specific entity filing the petition.
How do I apply for Contract Administrator jobs at MyMichigan Health?
Applications are submitted through MyMichigan Health's careers portal, where Contract Administrator roles are posted under administrative or supply chain functions. You can also browse current openings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for MyMichigan Health positions open to visa sponsorship, helping you identify roles where your immigration status won't be a barrier.
Which visa types are commonly used for Contract Administrator roles at MyMichigan Health?
H-1B is the most common long-term sponsorship path for Contract Administrator roles, given the specialty occupation requirements tied to degrees in healthcare administration, business, or a related field. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for students transitioning into the role, and TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or management classifications.
What qualifications are expected for Contract Administrator positions at MyMichigan Health?
Most Contract Administrator roles at MyMichigan Health require a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience managing vendor agreements or service contracts. Healthcare-specific experience, familiarity with compliance frameworks, and understanding of procurement processes within hospital or health system environments significantly strengthen your application.
How do I understand the H-1B petition timeline when starting at MyMichigan Health?
If MyMichigan Health qualifies as a cap-exempt employer, your H-1B can be filed at any time of year with a USCIS processing window of roughly three to six months for standard processing, or as few as two to three weeks with premium processing. If the cap applies, the lottery opens each March for an October 1 start date, so your offer timing relative to that cycle matters significantly.
