Job Roles at Nova Southeastern University Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Nova Southeastern University Visa Sponsorship USA
Target faculty and research positions first
NSU's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and research roles. Positions in health sciences, education, and applied research are your strongest entry points if you need H-1B or Green Card sponsorship from a university employer.
Understand the academic hiring calendar
University hiring follows a predictable cycle, with most faculty searches opening in fall and spring semesters. Applying early in the cycle gives your department time to initiate the sponsorship process before USCIS deadlines become a constraint.
Highlight specialized credentials that justify sponsorship
Universities sponsor when they can't easily fill a role locally. A doctoral degree, specialized clinical training, or niche research expertise in fields NSU actively recruits makes the case for sponsorship significantly stronger.
Check for OPT and CPT-friendly roles if you're on F-1
NSU sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which means students may be able to gain experience there before pursuing H-1B sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsors that support both OPT and long-term visa pathways.
Don't overlook professional staff roles outside the classroom
NSU's sponsorship isn't limited to faculty. Administrative, IT, healthcare, and student services roles have also attracted sponsorship. Broadening your search beyond teaching positions can open additional opportunities at the university.

Does Nova Southeastern University sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Nova Southeastern University sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so across faculty, research, and professional staff roles. NSU is an experienced petitioner familiar with the H-1B process, which reduces the administrative friction candidates sometimes face with first-time sponsors. Roles in health sciences, education, and applied research are the most common pathways.
What visa types does Nova Southeastern University sponsor?
NSU sponsors a broad range of visa categories, including H-1B, E-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT, as well as immigrant visa categories such as EB-2 and EB-3 for Green Card sponsorship. This breadth makes NSU particularly appealing to international candidates at different stages of their immigration journey, from students completing OPT to professionals seeking permanent residency.
Which departments or roles at Nova Southeastern University are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at NSU is most concentrated in health professions, including medicine, pharmacy, optometry, and physical therapy, as well as education, psychology, and computing and engineering programs. Research-intensive roles and clinical faculty positions tend to have the clearest path to sponsorship because the specialty occupation requirement is straightforward to establish in those fields.
How do I find visa-sponsored job openings at Nova Southeastern University?
Start by checking NSU's careers portal directly, filtering for roles that align with your field. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors like NSU so you can browse open positions filtered by real sponsorship history, rather than guessing which employers will actually support your visa. Combining both approaches gives you the most complete picture of available roles.
How do I approach the application process at Nova Southeastern University as an international candidate?
Apply through NSU's official careers portal and be upfront about your visa status in early conversations with HR. Universities are generally experienced with sponsorship timelines, but it helps to understand their process before you receive an offer. If you're on OPT, flag your end date early so the department can plan around the H-1B filing window. Roles with clear specialty occupation requirements move through the sponsorship process most smoothly.
