Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires Construction Administrator roles to meet specialty occupation criteria, meaning a bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or civil engineering directly tied to the position. Gather transcripts and credential evaluations before you apply.
Target NSU's facilities and capital projects team
NSU runs an active campus expansion program, so Construction Administrator openings often originate through its facilities management and capital projects division. Filter your search to postings from those departments, where sponsorship for this function is most established.
Understand how OPT and CPT bridge your first role
If you're finishing a construction management or engineering program, F-1 OPT lets you start at NSU before any H-1B petition is filed. NSU's history with F-1 work authorization means the HR team is familiar with OPT Employment Authorization Documents and E-Verify requirements.
Browse open Construction Administrator roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter NSU's Construction Administrator postings by visa type, so you can confirm which openings are actively listing sponsorship before investing time in a full application and portfolio.
Time your application around the H-1B cap filing window
H-1B cap registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If NSU extends an offer in late fall or winter, build that USCIS timeline into your negotiation so both sides understand when you can legally begin cap-subject employment.
Request confirmation of PERM or EB sponsorship willingness early
NSU has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for professional roles. During offer negotiation, ask directly whether the university will initiate a PERM labor certification for your position, since DOL processing timelines can span a year or more and planning ahead matters.

Find Construction Administrator at Nova Southeastern University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nova Southeastern University sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Administrators?
Yes, NSU has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for roles in its facilities and construction functions. Construction Administrator positions can qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS rules when the role requires a specific bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or a related engineering field. Confirm sponsorship intent with the hiring team before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Construction Administrator jobs at Nova Southeastern University?
Applications go through NSU's official careers portal. You can also browse current Construction Administrator openings at Nova Southeastern University that include visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you can identify relevant roles faster. Tailor your resume to highlight project oversight experience on institutional or higher education campuses, since that background aligns closely with NSU's facilities pipeline.
Which visa types does NSU commonly use for Construction Administrator roles?
NSU has sponsored H-1B, E-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT authorizations for professional roles, including construction and facilities functions. Australian nationals can pursue the E-3 route, which has no lottery and allows year-round applications. Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying construction occupations may be eligible for TN status. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways have also been used for longer-term hires.
What qualifications does NSU expect for a Construction Administrator role?
NSU typically looks for a bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience managing construction contracts, RFIs, submittals, and site inspections. Experience on large institutional or higher education projects is an advantage given the scale of NSU's campus development program. Licensure such as an AIA affiliation or PMP certification can strengthen your application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an NSU Construction Administrator hire?
Timeline depends on the visa category. H-1B cap cases require USCIS registration in March, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. Cap-exempt or change-of-status cases can move faster, often within two to four months. PERM-based Green Card petitions through DOL can take one to two years before the I-140 petition stage. Building these timelines into your offer discussion with NSU's HR team avoids surprises on both sides.
