Tailor your CV to U.S. academic standards
NSU adjunct postings expect a U.S.-style academic CV, not a resume. List teaching experience, publications, and relevant credentials by discipline. A strong CV signals you understand the academic environment and reduces back-and-forth during the offer stage.
Identify departments aligned with your specialty
NSU has professional colleges in health sciences, law, business, and education. Target your outreach to the specific college hiring in your field. Department-level fit matters more than a general application, especially for adjunct roles filled quickly on a per-semester basis.
Understand how H-1B sponsorship works for adjunct roles
Adjunct positions must meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, meaning your degree must directly relate to the courses you'll teach. Part-time adjunct appointments can still qualify for H-1B sponsorship, but the employer must certify that the role genuinely requires a specialized degree.
Confirm your OPT or CPT timeline before applying
If you're currently on F-1 OPT, verify your end date before accepting an adjunct offer. NSU's international student services office handles OPT employer reporting through E-Verify, so confirm the department is prepared to complete that step before your start date.
Ask HR directly about PERM eligibility for long-term positions
If you're targeting a path toward permanent residence through an EB-2 or EB-3, ask NSU's HR or international services office early whether the adjunct role qualifies for PERM labor certification. Adjunct positions are sometimes converted to full-time roles that open a PERM pathway.
Use Migrate Mate to find open adjunct postings at NSU
NSU posts adjunct openings across multiple colleges on a rolling basis. Use Migrate Mate to filter NSU adjunct roles by visa sponsorship type so you're only applying to positions that align with your current authorization status or sponsorship needs.

Find Adjunct Faculty at Nova Southeastern University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nova Southeastern University sponsor H-1B visas for Adjunct Facultys?
Yes, Nova Southeastern University sponsors H-1B visas for adjunct faculty roles when the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. The role must require a specialized degree directly related to the courses being taught. NSU's Office of International Student and Scholar Services coordinates the filing process with the hiring department.
Which visa types are commonly used for Adjunct Faculty roles at Nova Southeastern University?
Adjunct faculty at NSU are commonly sponsored under the H-1B, J-1, and TN visa categories, depending on the candidate's nationality and academic background. F-1 students in OPT or CPT may also work in adjunct roles within their authorized period. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, NSU has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card processes for qualifying academic positions.
What qualifications are expected for Adjunct Faculty roles at Nova Southeastern University?
NSU typically expects a master's degree at minimum for most adjunct positions, with a doctoral degree preferred or required in competitive disciplines like law, medicine, pharmacy, and psychology. Teaching experience, professional credentials in your field, and subject matter expertise aligned with the specific course load are all weighted heavily during the hiring review.
How do I apply for Adjunct Faculty jobs at Nova Southeastern University?
Adjunct faculty openings at NSU are posted on a rolling, semester-by-semester basis across individual colleges and departments. You can browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Applications typically require a CV, cover letter, and evidence of relevant credentials. Reaching out directly to the hiring department chair can also accelerate the process.
How do I navigate the timeline between receiving an adjunct offer and starting work at NSU?
For H-1B sponsorship, NSU must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. Standard processing takes several months, so confirming your start date against the filing timeline early is critical. If you need to begin sooner, ask NSU's international services office whether premium processing is available for your petition.
