Align Your Credentials with Specialty Occupation Standards
Healthcare roles at universities must meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria, meaning your degree field needs to directly correspond to the position. A nursing or public health degree should map clearly to the job description you're targeting at NSU.
Target NSU's Academic Healthcare Departments First
NSU operates health professions colleges covering medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and optometry. Roles tied to these academic units tend to have clearer specialty occupation justifications, which strengthens the sponsorship case compared to general administrative health positions.
Confirm Licensure Requirements Before Applying
Many Florida healthcare roles require active state licensure before employment can begin. Verify your credential is recognized by the Florida Department of Health, since unresolved licensure issues can delay or derail an H-1B or E-3 filing after an offer is made.
Find Healthcare Roles at NSU Using Migrate Mate
Browse Healthcare openings at Nova Southeastern University that match your visa type using Migrate Mate. You can filter by sponsorship eligibility so you're only spending time on roles where your work authorization pathway is already confirmed.
Ask About LCA Filing Timing During Offer Negotiations
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask NSU's HR team when they typically initiate this step so you understand the gap between your offer date and your start date.

Find Healthcare at Nova Southeastern University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nova Southeastern University sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Nova Southeastern University sponsors H-1B visas for qualified healthcare professionals in roles that meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Positions tied to NSU's health professions colleges, such as clinical education, research, or specialized patient care roles, are typically the strongest candidates for sponsorship since they require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Nova Southeastern University?
You can browse and apply for Healthcare positions at NSU through their official careers portal. To find roles that are open to visa sponsorship candidates specifically, Migrate Mate filters NSU's Healthcare listings by sponsorship eligibility, saving you the time of screening each posting manually. Once you identify a role, apply directly through NSU's system and indicate your work authorization status during the application process.
Which visa types does Nova Southeastern University commonly use for Healthcare roles?
NSU supports several work visa pathways for Healthcare professionals, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying health professions, J-1 for exchange visitors, and F-1 OPT or CPT for students completing healthcare degrees. Immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards are also available for longer-term candidates in eligible roles.
What qualifications does Nova Southeastern University typically expect for Healthcare roles?
NSU's Healthcare positions generally require a degree in a directly related health field, such as nursing, public health, pharmacy, or biomedical sciences, depending on the specific role. For clinical or research positions within its health professions colleges, active Florida state licensure or eligibility for licensure is often required. Candidates without a direct degree match may need substantial documented work experience to support a specialty occupation determination.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Healthcare roles at NSU?
For H-1B sponsorship, the timeline depends on the annual cap and lottery cycle, with petitions filed in April for an October 1 start date. Cap-exempt pathways, which may apply to NSU as a higher education institution, can allow filing year-round with faster processing. E-3 and TN sponsorship typically move more quickly since they don't require lottery selection. Building in at least three to six months from offer to work authorization start is a practical baseline.
