INTRODUCTION
The NVIDIA Experience (NVEX) Solutions Engineering team is looking for a senior Computer or Software Engineer who is ready to become an authority in ground-breaking network technology used in AI clusters. Our team of software engineers bridge the gap between the customer support teams and R&D, focusing on resolution of tough problems from the front lines and providing the highest level of support for InfiniBand, NVLink, and Spectrum-X network systems that interconnect GPUs and AI compute infrastructure.
The level of work we do requires a software engineering background for deep code and logic analysis. It is also essential to have a proven grasp of in-field, production network operations and a history of collaborating closely with both customer engineering teams and internal R&D to triage and resolve major issues. Candidates must be very comfortable interacting with and relaying technical information to various groups ranging from R&D engineers, support groups, account teams, and executive-level management. The individual will interact daily with both internal and external customers, so superb interpersonal and communication skills are essential. SE team members also get to spend time working within R&D groups taking on feature development and bug fixes to directly enhance the products we support.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist various network and AI cluster support teams in reproducing, resolving, and root causing sophisticated customer issues
- Work with NVIDIA R&D teams to rapidly develop bug fixes, workarounds, and solutions for customers using NVIDIA’s network technologies
- Work directly with customer engineers on live triage of critical and high-profile issues
- Become an authority in NVIDIA Spectrum-X networking used in AI clusters
- Develop support and analysis tools to help analyze and root cause field issues
- Daily use of ground breaking AI tools for software development, log and trace analysis, and source code debugging
- Spend a portion of time working directly within an R&D team developing core software
- Occasional work on weekends or holidays to support critical customers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have software development experience in the networking industry either for a network hardware manufacturer or software integrator
- Candidates must have experience working directly with customers and support groups to triage and resolve critical in-field, in-production networking problems
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering or related (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience developing software (C, C++, Python, or Go)
- 5+ years of experience directly supporting end-customers, partners, or integrators for network equipment and infrastructures
- Experience analyzing, developing, and debugging at least 2 of the following: Linux NIC drivers, switch ASICs and SDKs, embedded network device firmware, Linux based network equipment (routers, switches, gateways, etc), network operating systems
- Expert knowledge of Ethernet and IP routing down to the protocol’s byte level
- Ability to analyze and learn evolving end-to-end systems flow, quickly learn how unfamiliar software layers are integrated, and be able to find logic bugs within an increasingly complex environment
- Passion and motivation to isolate, root cause, and resolve high impact issues with executive visibility
- Professional-level communication skills, including adjusting communication to the technical level of the audience, and staying calm and focused in negative situations.
COMPENSATION
- Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 140,000 USD - 224,250 USD for Level 3, and 168,000 USD - 270,250 USD for Level 4.
- You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Align your portfolio to NVIDIA's solution domains
NVIDIA Solution Engineers work across AI infrastructure, data center, and enterprise software deployments. Frame your experience around specific verticals like healthcare AI or autonomous systems rather than general pre-sales work to match their hiring profile.
Obtain your LCA before your start date
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Confirm the certified LCA specifies the correct work location, because NVIDIA deploys Solution Engineers across multiple office and client sites.
Target teams actively hiring for customer-facing technical roles
Use Migrate Mate to filter NVIDIA's open Solution Engineer positions by sponsorship type, so you apply to roles where H-1B or E-3 filings are already part of the hiring workflow rather than an exception requiring internal approvals.
Prepare a technical demonstration relevant to NVIDIA products
NVIDIA's interview process for Solution Engineers typically includes a live technical scenario or architecture presentation. Build a demo using CUDA, TensorRT, or NVIDIA AI Enterprise so your skills translate directly to the product stack you'd be supporting.
Clarify cap-exempt timing if you hold prior H-1B status
If you've been counted against the H-1B cap before, NVIDIA can file your transfer petition outside the April lottery window. Confirm your prior approval dates with USCIS records so your recruiter can initiate the petition on a rolling basis.
Leverage your E-3 eligibility as an Australian citizen
The E-3 visa has an annual allocation that has never been exhausted, meaning NVIDIA can file your petition year-round without lottery risk. Bring your bachelor's degree documentation to your consular interview, as specialty occupation evidence is reviewed on the spot.

Find Solution Engineer at NVIDIA JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does NVIDIA sponsor H-1B visas for Solution Engineers?
Yes, NVIDIA sponsors H-1B visas for Solution Engineer roles. NVIDIA participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery for new applicants and can file cap-exempt petitions for candidates who have been previously counted against the cap. Once you receive an offer, NVIDIA's immigration team coordinates directly with outside counsel to initiate the Labor Condition Application and I-129 petition process.
How do I apply for Solution Engineer jobs at NVIDIA?
Applications go through NVIDIA's careers portal, where Solution Engineer roles are listed by product area and region. You'll typically move through a recruiter screen, a technical assessment, and a panel interview that includes a solution presentation. Stating your visa sponsorship needs early in the process helps the recruiting team loop in immigration resources before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does NVIDIA commonly use for Solution Engineers?
NVIDIA sponsors H-1B visas for most international Solution Engineers and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. For candidates on a path to permanent residence, NVIDIA also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. Solution Engineer roles generally qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules because the position requires a degree in engineering, computer science, or a directly related technical field.
What qualifications does NVIDIA look for in Solution Engineer candidates?
NVIDIA expects Solution Engineers to hold a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, paired with hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure, AI frameworks, or GPU-accelerated computing. Customer-facing consulting experience in a technical pre-sales or solutions architecture capacity is weighted heavily. Familiarity with NVIDIA's software stack, including CUDA or NVIDIA AI Enterprise, strengthens your candidacy.
How do I find NVIDIA Solution Engineer roles that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter NVIDIA's open Solution Engineer positions specifically by visa sponsorship type, including H-1B and E-3, so you can identify roles where sponsorship is already built into the hiring process. This saves time compared to applying broadly and clarifying sponsorship eligibility after the fact, which can slow down offers for time-sensitive applicants on OPT or a grace period.
