Target roles in academic and administrative departments
Pace University's sponsorship activity is concentrated in faculty, research, and professional staff roles. Focus your search on departments with international hiring needs, such as academic affairs, IT, and student services, where specialty occupation roles are most common.
Understand how universities handle H-1B sponsorship
As a university, Pace University can sponsor H-1B visas for roles requiring a specific degree. Academic institutions often have dedicated HR or international scholar offices, reach out early to understand their internal process before accepting any offer.
Leverage your F-1 OPT or CPT as a stepping stone
Pace University sponsors both F-1 OPT and CPT, which means students and recent graduates can gain hands-on experience there before pursuing H-1B sponsorship. Starting on OPT gives you time to demonstrate your value before the employer commits to a full petition.
Check for TN-eligible roles if you're Canadian or Mexican
Pace University has sponsored TN visas, which is an efficient alternative to H-1B for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professions. If your role and credentials align with TN categories, raise this option with HR, it avoids the lottery entirely.
Apply during the institution's annual hiring cycle
Universities like Pace typically post faculty and staff openings on a predictable academic calendar, with peak hiring in late fall and early spring. Timing your application to align with their recruitment cycle improves your chances of being considered before headcount decisions are finalized.
Filter for verified sponsors before applying
Not every university listing clearly states whether visa sponsorship is available. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your effort on Pace University openings where sponsorship is a known possibility.
