Align your credentials to client requirements
PTS Advance places engineers into client roles, so your credentials need to satisfy both the staffing firm and the end client. Gather your degree transcripts, professional licenses, and any relevant certifications before outreach to avoid delays once a placement is identified.
Ask how sponsorship transfers if the client changes
Staffing firms file sponsorship tied to their own entity, not the client's. If a client engagement ends, clarify with your PTS Advance recruiter whether your petition status or OPT authorization carries forward to a new placement.
Search open Engineering roles through Migrate Mate
PTS Advance posts Engineering openings regularly across technical disciplines. Use Migrate Mate to filter PTS Advance listings by visa type so you're only applying to roles where your specific authorization is already supported.
Prepare for TN classification evidence early
TN status requires documentation showing your role qualifies under a listed USMCA category. Engineering roles typically qualify, but you'll need an offer letter from PTS Advance that specifies your title, duties, and that a relevant engineering degree is required.
Understand the PERM timeline before pursuing a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through a staffing firm requires DOL PERM labor certification, which can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the petition. Confirm PTS Advance has a long-term client placement lined up before starting this process.

Does PTS Advance sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
PTS Advance does not appear to sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering roles. Their documented sponsorship activity covers F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, clarify directly with a PTS Advance recruiter before advancing in the process, as staffing firms sometimes handle H-1B filings through specific client arrangements that aren't always publicly listed.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering roles at PTS Advance?
PTS Advance most commonly supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students and recent graduates in Engineering, along with TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under a USMCA engineering category. For longer-term pathways, they sponsor EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards through DOL PERM labor certification, though those require a stable, ongoing client placement to initiate the multi-year process.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Engineering roles at PTS Advance?
PTS Advance staffs Engineering roles across industrial, technical, and specialized sectors, so requirements vary by client. Most placements expect a relevant engineering degree for visa eligibility, particularly for TN and Green Card sponsorship where the position must qualify as a specialty occupation or USMCA-listed profession. Hands-on technical experience in your discipline, along with any professional licensing relevant to the client's industry, strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at PTS Advance?
Browse current Engineering openings at PTS Advance on Migrate Mate, where you can filter by visa type to find roles that match your authorization. Apply directly through the listing and be prepared to specify your current visa status, authorized period, and any upcoming OPT or TN expiration dates. PTS Advance recruiters typically want this information upfront to match you to client engagements with realistic sponsorship timelines.
How do I estimate the timeline for visa sponsorship through PTS Advance?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT and CPT can begin once your DSO authorizes work, often within days of an offer. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry or through USCIS, typically in a few weeks. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards involve DOL PERM labor certification followed by USCIS adjudication, a process that commonly spans two to four years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
