Align your HR credentials to real estate operations
Public Storage's HR team supports a high-volume, geographically dispersed hourly workforce. Highlight experience with multi-site HR operations, high-turnover workforce management, or HRIS platforms used in property or facilities environments to stand out from generalist applicants.
Target HR roles that match your visa category
HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition roles at companies like Public Storage typically qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B if tied to a relevant bachelor's degree field such as human resources, organizational psychology, or business. Confirm your specific role's eligibility with USCIS specialty occupation criteria before applying.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter for Human Resources openings at Public Storage directly on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles from employers with confirmed sponsorship track records. This saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-applying to postings with no indication of visa support.
Raise sponsorship during the offer stage, not before
Public Storage HR hiring managers are accustomed to compliance workflows, but sponsorship conversations mid-interview can stall momentum. Once you have a verbal offer, ask directly whether their legal or HR ops team handles immigration filings internally or through outside counsel.
Prepare your OPT documentation before your start date
If you're joining on F-1 OPT, ensure your EAD card is valid and your employer enrollment in E-Verify is confirmed before day one. Public Storage is a federal contractor-adjacent employer with strict I-9 compliance requirements, so gaps in work authorization documentation will cause onboarding delays.
Plan your PERM timeline around Public Storage's hiring cycles
For EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship, the DOL PERM labor certification process typically takes 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition can be filed. Large real estate operators tend to initiate PERM after an employee has demonstrated performance over one to two years, so discuss long-term sponsorship intent early in your tenure.

Find Human Resources at Public Storage JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Public Storage sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
Yes, Public Storage has sponsored H-1B visas for Human Resources positions. HR roles that require a specific bachelor's degree, such as HR Business Partner or Compensation Analyst positions, typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards. Roles that accept any degree field or rely primarily on general business experience may face more scrutiny during the H-1B petition process.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Public Storage?
Applications go through Public Storage's careers portal, where HR roles are listed by function and location. Filtering for positions in human resources or people operations will surface relevant openings. You can also browse verified Human Resources listings at Public Storage with confirmed sponsorship history through Migrate Mate, which helps you prioritize roles where visa support is already established.
Which visa types does Public Storage commonly use for Human Resources roles?
Public Storage has sponsored H-1B visas for HR professionals and supported F-1 OPT and CPT for students entering HR functions. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through the DOL PERM process is available for qualifying roles. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in HR positions that meet the TN occupation list criteria.
What qualifications does Public Storage expect for sponsored Human Resources roles?
Most sponsored HR roles at Public Storage require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational psychology, or a closely related field. Experience supporting large, distributed workforces is a strong differentiator given the company's operational model across hundreds of locations. Familiarity with HRIS platforms, benefits compliance, or labor relations in a high-volume environment strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Human Resources position at Public Storage?
For H-1B sponsorship, the timeline depends on the annual cap lottery, which opens each April for an October 1 start date, though cap-exempt scenarios may allow earlier filing. F-1 OPT authorization typically processes within 90 days through your university's DSO. Green Card sponsorship via PERM can take two years or more from initiation through I-485 approval, depending on your priority date and country of birth.
