Align your credentials to OSHA and NEC standards
Quanta's electrical engineering work is governed by National Electrical Code compliance and OSHA safety requirements. Before applying, make sure your resume explicitly references experience with NEC standards, single-line diagrams, and power distribution design so hiring managers can immediately verify your fit.
Target Quanta's subsidiary companies directly
Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group operates through a network of subsidiaries across transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects. Search DOL's LCA disclosure data for each subsidiary entity to identify which ones have filed for Electrical Design Engineer roles in your target region.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Quanta posts Electrical Design Engineer openings across multiple subsidiaries, making it easy to miss relevant positions. Use Migrate Mate to browse and filter active listings by visa sponsorship type so you're only pursuing roles where H-1B or TN sponsorship is already confirmed.
Clarify TN eligibility before your offer stage
Canadian and Mexican nationals with an engineering degree may qualify for TN status for Electrical Design Engineer roles without going through the H-1B lottery. Confirm with USCIS criteria that your specific degree field and job duties meet TN's engineer category before the offer letter is drafted.
Request your LCA details before signing your offer
Before accepting an offer, ask HR which DOL prevailing wage level Quanta intends to file your LCA under. Wage level directly affects your I-129 approval risk, and energy sector roles at infrastructure companies are frequently audited by DOL for wage compliance.
Convert OPT experience into project-specific evidence
If you're on F-1 OPT and targeting a full H-1B sponsorship path, document your electrical design work in terms of project scope, voltage classes handled, and deliverables produced. Quanta's H-1B petitions for engineering roles need to demonstrate specialty occupation through job duties, not just job title.

Find Electrical Design Engineer at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Design Engineers?
Yes, Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Design Engineers. The company operates across large-scale energy infrastructure projects that require specialized electrical design expertise, which supports the specialty occupation standard USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B petitions. Sponsorship is handled at the subsidiary level, so confirm sponsorship availability directly with the specific Quanta entity posting the role.
How do I apply for Electrical Design Engineer jobs at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
Browse open Electrical Design Engineer roles through Migrate Mate, which filters Quanta's listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions where H-1B, TN, or OPT sponsorship is available. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight experience with power systems, NEC compliance, and any relevant engineering licensure, as these are the qualifications Quanta's hiring teams screen for in this role.
Which visa types are commonly used for Electrical Design Engineer roles at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Design Engineers requiring long-term work authorization, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates in the earlier stages of their U.S. work authorization. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also be eligible for TN status under the engineer category, provided their degree and job duties meet USCIS and DOL requirements for that classification.
What qualifications does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group expect for Electrical Design Engineer roles?
Quanta typically looks for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with power distribution design, substation layout, load flow analysis, and NEC or IEEE standards is expected at most experience levels. Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or ETAP, and exposure to utility-scale or renewable energy projects, strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship process when joining Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you're transitioning from OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and whether a STEM extension gives you enough runway to cover the gap between your start date and H-1B activation. Quanta's HR team should initiate your LCA filing with DOL well before the USCIS petition window opens in early April.
