Align your credentials to Ryder's sourcing focus
Ryder's Procurement team operates across fleet, logistics, and supply chain categories. Highlight experience in transportation or industrial procurement on your resume, since generic purchasing backgrounds are less competitive than category-specific expertise for this employer.
Target roles that require specialized supply chain knowledge
USCIS approves H-1B petitions when the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Procurement positions framed around strategic sourcing, contract management, or supplier risk analysis carry stronger specialty occupation arguments than general buyer roles.
Search Ryder's open Procurement roles on Migrate Mate
Filter by sponsorship type to surface Procurement positions at Ryder that align with your visa category. Migrate Mate aggregates sponsor-verified listings so you're not applying to roles where sponsorship is uncertain before you get to the offer stage.
Confirm LCA filing timing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. For Procurement roles, verify that Ryder's HR team has initiated this step, since LCA certification typically takes seven business days and delays the full timeline.
Understand how a Green Card filing affects your role
If Ryder sponsors you for EB-2 or EB-3 permanent residency, PERM labor certification requires advertising your Procurement position to test the domestic labor market. This process can run six months or longer, so factor it into your long-term planning from the offer stage.
Prepare for behavioral interviews grounded in sourcing outcomes
Ryder's Procurement interviews consistently emphasize cost savings, vendor negotiation outcomes, and cross-functional collaboration in logistics contexts. Quantify your results from prior sourcing roles in dollar or percentage terms, as these translate directly to the metrics Ryder's hiring managers evaluate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ryder System sponsor H-1B visas for Procurements?
Yes, Ryder System sponsors H-1B visas for Procurement roles. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, particularly for positions involving strategic sourcing, supplier management, and supply chain operations. To improve your chances, make sure the role you're targeting is structured as a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree field, which strengthens the H-1B petition under USCIS criteria.
Which visa types does Ryder System use for Procurement positions?
Ryder sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa pathways for Procurement roles. H-1B is the most common route for initial work authorization. For longer-term employees, Ryder has also filed EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions through the PERM labor certification process with DOL, which is typical for companies that treat Procurement as a core professional function rather than a support role.
What qualifications does Ryder System expect for Procurement roles?
Ryder typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. For senior roles, experience in transportation, fleet, or industrial procurement is a strong differentiator. Certifications like CPSM or CSCP are valued but not always required. Candidates with direct vendor negotiation experience and familiarity with ERP systems tend to advance further in Ryder's interview process.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at Ryder System?
You can browse Ryder's current Procurement openings through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm H-1B or Green Card eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight category-specific sourcing experience relevant to logistics or transportation, since Ryder's hiring managers prioritize industry alignment over general procurement backgrounds.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a Ryder Procurement role?
After you receive and accept an offer, Ryder's HR or immigration counsel initiates a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which typically takes about seven business days to certify. USCIS then processes the H-1B petition, with standard processing running three to six months. Premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days. If you're changing status from within the U.S., your start date still must fall on or after October 1 for cap-subject petitions.
