Align your credentials to electronics manufacturing standards
Sanmina operates across printed circuit board assembly and complex electronics production, so lean into certifications like IPC-A-610 or Six Sigma when updating your resume. These signal hands-on manufacturing fluency that generic operations credentials don't.
Target Sanmina sites with active production demand
Sanmina runs facilities across multiple U.S. states with different production volumes and hiring cycles. Research which sites handle high-mix, low-volume electronics contracts, since those locations tend to have more consistent demand for experienced operations staff.
Confirm sponsorship intent before investing application time
When you reach the recruiter stage, ask directly whether the role supports H-1B transfer or new filing. Sanmina has sponsored across multiple visa types, but eligibility can vary by site and role level, so get clarity early rather than late in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles
Not every Operations posting at Sanmina will explicitly mention sponsorship in the job description. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where Sanmina has an active sponsorship track record, so you're applying to positions with a realistic path to visa support.
Prepare for PERM timelines if targeting a Green Card pathway
Sanmina sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 categories, which require PERM labor certification through DOL before the immigrant petition. That process typically runs 12 to 18 months, so raise your long-term immigration goals with the hiring manager before accepting an offer.
Document OPT or CPT employment accurately for H-1B transition
If you're moving from F-1 OPT into an H-1B petition at Sanmina, USCIS will scrutinize whether your authorized OPT employment aligns with the specialty occupation being petitioned. Keep detailed records of your job duties, supervisor name, and employer EIN throughout your OPT period.

Find Operations at Sanmina JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sanmina sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Sanmina has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations positions. Sponsorship availability can vary by site and seniority level, so it's worth confirming with the recruiter early in your conversation. Roles in process engineering, supply chain management, and production planning are the most commonly supported functions within Operations at Sanmina.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Sanmina?
You can apply through Sanmina's careers portal or find verified sponsorship-eligible postings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where Sanmina has an established sponsorship track record. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect electronics manufacturing experience, as Sanmina's Operations roles are closely tied to PCB assembly, contract manufacturing, and hardware production environments.
Which visa types does Sanmina commonly use for Operations positions?
Sanmina has sponsored H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Operations roles, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term placements. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. The right visa type depends on your nationality, education level, and whether the role is a short-term or permanent placement.
What qualifications does Sanmina expect for Operations roles?
Sanmina typically expects a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field for mid-level Operations positions. Hands-on experience in electronics or hardware manufacturing environments carries significant weight. Familiarity with ERP systems, lean manufacturing principles, and quality standards like IPC or ISO 9001 will strengthen your candidacy, particularly for senior operations or process roles.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing visa sponsorship at Sanmina?
If you're targeting an H-1B and are not currently in H-1B status, timing matters significantly. Cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. Factor in that Sanmina will need time to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS submission. Start conversations with recruiters at least six months before your current work authorization expires.
