Tailor your resume to project delivery roles
Sundt staffs construction roles across self-perform divisions, so frame your experience around concrete deliverables: schedules managed, subcontractors coordinated, or safety programs led. Generic construction resumes get filtered out before anyone reviews your visa status.
Verify your degree supports a specialty occupation
For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires your role to normally require a specific bachelor's degree. Construction management, civil engineering, or structural engineering degrees map cleanly to project engineer and superintendent roles at companies like Sundt.
Target roles early in Sundt's project pipeline
Large general contractors hire ahead of project awards. Watch Sundt's careers page for openings tied to infrastructure or commercial builds in your region. Getting in during the pre-construction hiring window gives your employer more time to file your H-1B petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sundt's open construction roles
Searching construction openings across large GCs manually is slow. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Sundt Construction roles that align with visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already part of the equation.
Clarify your OPT or TN status before the offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before salary negotiations begin. For TN applicants, bring your civil or mechanical engineering credentials to the border interview since construction management roles can draw scrutiny without a clearly matching degree.
Understand the LCA filing timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. DOL certification typically takes one to two weeks, so factor that into your start date conversation with HR.

Find Construction at Sundt Construction JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sundt Construction sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Sundt Construction has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for construction professionals. Eligible roles typically include project engineers, project managers, and estimators where the position requires a specific bachelor's degree, meeting USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Sponsorship is most common for salaried office-based and hybrid construction roles rather than purely field labor positions.
Which visa types are commonly used for Construction roles at Sundt Construction?
Sundt sponsors across several visa categories relevant to construction professionals. H-1B is the most common path for degreed roles like project engineering and estimating. F-1 OPT and CPT support recent graduates early in their careers. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering disciplines. J-1 is less common but available for certain training or exchange arrangements.
What qualifications and experience does Sundt Construction expect for Construction roles?
Sundt typically looks for candidates with degrees in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field for its project-side roles. Hands-on experience with self-perform construction, scheduling software like Primavera P6, and familiarity with safety compliance standards strengthens your application. Estimating or preconstruction experience is particularly valued for roles tied to Sundt's design-build and CMAR project delivery methods.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Sundt Construction?
You can browse and apply for Sundt Construction's open construction roles directly through their careers portal. To find positions that align with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to filter Sundt's openings by role type and sponsorship history, which saves you from applying to positions unlikely to support international candidates. Tailor your application materials to reflect project delivery experience relevant to Sundt's core construction divisions.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing an H-1B through a construction employer like Sundt?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year for an October 1 start date, so you need a job offer and a registered employer well before then. USCIS typically opens registrations in early March for a two-week window. If you're on OPT, confirm your authorization covers the period between your start date and when H-1B status takes effect, and ask HR about cap-gap protections if needed.
