Get your credentials evaluated before applying
If you earned your engineering degree outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before submitting applications. Sundt's Project Engineer roles typically require a four-year accredited degree, and an unverified foreign credential can stall your offer stage.
Target Sundt's regional offices strategically
Sundt operates distinct business units across Texas, Arizona, California, and other states, each with separate hiring pipelines. Applying to a specific regional office with active construction projects increases your visibility compared to submitting a general application through the corporate portal.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline upfront
If you're on F-1 status, tell Sundt's recruiter your OPT authorization end date early in the process. Construction project timelines are long, and hiring managers need to know whether your work authorization covers the full duration of a project ramp-up before extending an offer.
Understand how Sundt structures H-1B filings
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file with USCIS by the April 1 deadline for an October 1 start date. If you're mid-interview in January or February, confirm whether Sundt's HR team has begun the Labor Condition Application process with DOL to stay on schedule.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Project Engineer roles
Project Engineer openings at Sundt are distributed across multiple business units and rarely consolidated in one place. Use Migrate Mate to search and filter Sundt's open roles by visa type, so you can identify positions that align with your current authorization status.
Align your resume to field engineering deliverables
Sundt's Project Engineer roles emphasize RFI management, subcontractor coordination, and schedule tracking, not just design. Tailor your application materials to show direct experience with construction documentation workflows, which signals readiness to contribute on day one rather than requiring a long ramp-up.

Find Project Engineer at Sundt Construction JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sundt Construction sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, Sundt Construction has sponsored H-1B visas for Project Engineers. The H-1B is the most common route for international engineers in the U.S. construction sector. Because H-1B filings are subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing your offer and application sequence carefully with Sundt's HR team is critical to hitting the April 1 USCIS filing window.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Sundt Construction?
Applications go through Sundt's careers portal, but roles are also posted by individual business units, so searching by region or project type helps surface openings that don't always appear in a single feed. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Sundt's Project Engineer listings filtered by visa sponsorship type, which saves time if you have a specific authorization status.
Which visa types does Sundt Construction commonly use for Project Engineer roles?
Sundt sponsors several nonimmigrant visa categories for Project Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, while H-1B and TN are the more stable long-term options for engineers from eligible countries. TN status is limited to Canadian and Mexican nationals under the USMCA agreement.
What qualifications does Sundt Construction expect for Project Engineer roles?
Sundt's Project Engineer positions typically require a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or construction management from an accredited program. Practical experience with construction documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and schedules, is consistently emphasized across job postings. If your degree was earned outside the U.S., a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency is generally needed to confirm equivalency.
How do I plan my visa timeline when targeting a Project Engineer offer at Sundt?
The timeline depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiration date against Sundt's expected project start date before your final interview rounds. For H-1B sponsorship, the DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before USCIS filing, and the entire sequence needs to begin by late February or early March to meet the April 1 cap-subject filing deadline.
