Align Your Credentials with U.S. Standards
Sundt evaluates project managers on U.S.-recognized qualifications. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before applying, so your engineering or construction management background translates clearly.
Target Sundt's Active Project Regions
Sundt operates across the Southwest, Southeast, and federal markets. Focusing your applications on regions with active project pipelines increases your chances, since H-1B petitions are filed at the worksite location and staffing needs drive sponsorship decisions.
Confirm LCA Compliance Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing, ask your recruiter whether the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL for your specific worksite. For construction roles, the LCA wage level must reflect the project location, not company headquarters.
Clarify CPT and OPT Suitability Early
If you're on F-1 status, Sundt has hired through both CPT and OPT pathways. Confirm with their HR team that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, since construction project management roles must demonstrate a degree requirement to support H-1B transition.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Roles
Sundt posts Construction Project Manager openings across multiple locations at once. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sundt roles that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring pipeline.
Prepare for Prevailing Wage Conversations
DOL prevailing wage determinations for construction project managers vary significantly by state and metro area. Research wage levels for your target Sundt project location before your offer stage so you can negotiate from an informed position and avoid mismatches that delay filing.

Find Construction Project Manager at Sundt Construction JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sundt Construction sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Project Managers?
Yes, Sundt Construction sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Project Managers. The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for this role category. Because H-1B sponsorship is employer-initiated, you'll want to confirm sponsorship willingness early in the recruiter conversation, ideally before your first technical interview.
How do I apply for Construction Project Manager jobs at Sundt Construction?
You can apply directly through Sundt's careers portal or find open roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect project delivery experience relevant to Sundt's core sectors: civil, federal, industrial, and commercial construction. Highlighting field supervision and subcontractor management experience improves your chances of moving to a technical interview.
Which visa types does Sundt Construction commonly use for Construction Project Manager roles?
Sundt sponsors H-1B visas as the primary long-term work authorization for Construction Project Managers. They also hire candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT, as well as TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering or management credentials. J-1 sponsorship is less common for this role but has been used in specific training contexts.
What qualifications does Sundt Construction expect for Construction Project Manager candidates?
Sundt typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, combined with hands-on project delivery experience. Familiarity with cost control, scheduling software such as Primavera P6, and subcontractor coordination is valued. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must directly align with the role to satisfy the USCIS specialty occupation standard.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship through Sundt Construction?
If you're targeting cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, Sundt would need to register you in the USCIS lottery in March for an October 1 start date. That means securing an offer and completing the LCA process with DOL well before the registration window. If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, factor in your OPT expiration date and the 60-day grace period when timing your application.
