Align your credentials with U.S. construction standards
Construction Project Managers at Evans General Contractors are expected to hold a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. A PMP certification or OSHA safety credentials signals you meet U.S. site management expectations, which strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B.
Target active project pipelines when applying
General contractors ramp hiring around awarded contracts. Research Evans General Contractors' publicly announced projects or bid wins before applying, then tailor your application to the project type where your field experience matches their current workload.
Clarify sponsorship fit before the offer stage
Construction firms sometimes misunderstand which visa categories cover Project Manager roles. Ask the hiring manager directly whether their legal team has processed H-1B or TN petitions for this title before, so you avoid wasted time on both sides late in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
Construction Project Manager positions at Evans General Contractors aren't always posted across every job board. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track roles by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're applying to openings where sponsorship is already part of the hiring plan.
Prepare your LCA documentation for DOL review
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS even sees your petition. Make sure your offered role is framed around a specialty occupation with a defined degree requirement, not a generalist construction management title.
Plan your OPT or TN timeline around project start dates
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 90-day unemployment cap applies even during employer-sponsored H-1B filing periods. For TN holders, the category covers engineers and certain management roles, but your job duties must clearly fall within the defined USMCA occupation list when entering at the border.

Does Evans General Contractors sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Project Managers?
Yes, Evans General Contractors has sponsored H-1B visas for Construction Project Manager roles. To qualify, your position must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like construction management or civil engineering. Your employer files Form I-129 with USCIS, and the process begins with a certified Labor Condition Application through the DOL.
How do I apply for Construction Project Manager jobs at Evans General Contractors?
You can browse open Construction Project Manager positions at Evans General Contractors through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, submit a resume that highlights field experience relevant to the project types Evans handles, such as commercial or civil construction. Flagging your visa status and timeline early in the process helps the hiring team assess sponsorship feasibility before extending an offer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Construction Project Manager roles at Evans General Contractors?
Evans General Contractors has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for roles at the company. For Construction Project Managers, H-1B is the most common long-term path. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals if your role aligns with a qualifying USMCA occupation category. F-1 OPT and CPT are typically used for candidates earlier in their careers or in pre-graduation internship roles.
What qualifications does Evans General Contractors expect for Construction Project Manager candidates?
Evans General Contractors typically looks for a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture, combined with direct field experience managing project timelines, subcontractors, and budgets. Familiarity with scheduling software like Primavera or Procore is commonly expected. OSHA certifications and a PMP designation strengthen your profile, particularly for H-1B sponsorship purposes where a defined degree requirement must be documented.
How do I time my application if I'm on F-1 OPT and targeting a Construction Project Manager role at Evans General Contractors?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply at least six months before your OPT expires so there's enough lead time for Evans to file an H-1B petition before the April 1 filing window. STEM OPT extension gives eligible graduates an additional 24 months, but construction management degrees must be verified as STEM-designated by your DSO. Starting the conversation with the hiring team early gives both sides time to plan around USCIS processing timelines.
