Frame Your PMP Around Construction Deliverables
Certifications like PMP or CAPM carry weight, but Evans evaluates Program Managers on construction-specific outcomes. Tailor your resume to highlight budget control, subcontractor coordination, and schedule adherence on built-environment projects, not generic program governance.
Search Open Roles Across All Project Types
Evans posts Program Manager openings tied to different construction verticals. Browse listings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for visa-sponsoring roles and identify which project types are actively hiring before you apply.
Confirm LCA Filing Before Accepting Any Offer
Before an H-1B petition can be filed, your employer must submit a certified Labor Condition Application to the DOL. Ask Evans HR during the offer stage whether the LCA has been initiated so you can track the timeline accurately.
Align Your Degree Field to the Role Requirements
H-1B specialty occupation status requires a direct connection between your degree and the Program Manager position. Construction management, civil engineering, or architecture degrees align well. A business degree alone may prompt a USCIS Request for Evidence.
Use F-1 OPT to Build Site-Level Experience First
If you're on F-1 OPT, targeting a Program Manager role at a general contractor like Evans while authorized under OPT positions you ahead of H-1B cap season. Document your construction project hours carefully in case USCIS reviews your OPT employer relationship.
Prepare a Portfolio of Completed Projects
Evans Program Managers are accountable for multi-phase project delivery. Bring a concise project portfolio to interviews that shows scope, team size, and on-time completion. This signals readiness for the role and strengthens the specialty occupation case during visa filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Evans General Contractors sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Evans General Contractors has sponsored H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. Because H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, your application package should clearly establish that the role demands a degree in a specific field such as construction management or civil engineering. Working with an immigration attorney early in the offer process helps build that case.
Which visa types are commonly used for Program Manager roles at Evans General Contractors?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Program Managers at Evans, but the company also has experience with F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates still completing or recently finishing a degree. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering occupations may also explore the TN visa, which does not require an annual lottery.
What qualifications and experience does Evans General Contractors expect for Program Manager positions?
Evans typically looks for a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related technical field, combined with direct experience managing multi-trade construction projects. A PMP certification strengthens your profile. Program Managers at general contractors are expected to own schedules, manage subcontractors, and report on budget performance across multiple project phases.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Evans General Contractors?
Browse active Program Manager openings at Evans General Contractors on Migrate Mate, which filters job listings specifically for employers with a visa sponsorship track record. Apply directly through the listing, tailor your resume to construction project outcomes, and follow up with the hiring team to confirm their process for international candidates before the H-1B cap registration window opens each March.
How do I manage the H-1B timeline if I receive an offer from Evans General Contractors?
H-1B cap registrations open in March and USCIS runs its lottery shortly after. If you're selected, your petition can be filed starting April 1 with an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you have up to 24 additional months of authorization, which can bridge the gap if you miss a cap cycle.
