Frame your credentials around construction operations
General Manager roles in construction require demonstrable experience overseeing project delivery, subcontractor management, and budget accountability. Before applying, organize your resume around outcomes in those areas so your qualifications map clearly to what Evans evaluates.
Confirm your visa type fits the role
Evans has sponsored H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 candidates for operations roles. Match your current status to their known sponsorship types early. TN is faster for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management roles, while H-1B requires cap timing awareness.
Target Evans locations with active construction pipelines
General Manager openings at Evans tend to surface where active project pipelines exist. Research their regional presence and focus applications on areas with current or upcoming construction activity, which signals where headcount decisions are actually being made.
Align your application timing with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Secure an offer from Evans well before February so they can engage counsel and file the petition before the registration window closes.
Use Migrate Mate to find open General Manager roles
Search Migrate Mate to browse current General Manager openings at Evans General Contractors filtered by visa sponsorship type. This lets you identify which roles are actively hiring before reaching out to their recruiting team directly.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage requirements upfront
Evans must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before sponsoring an H-1B. Understand the prevailing wage for General Manager roles in construction in your target location so salary expectations are aligned before you reach the offer stage.

Find General Manager at Evans General Contractors JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Evans General Contractors sponsor H-1B visas for General Managers?
Yes, Evans General Contractors has sponsored H-1B visas for General Manager roles. Because the H-1B is subject to the annual USCIS cap and lottery, timing matters significantly. If you need H-1B sponsorship, the goal is to secure an offer early enough for Evans to file during the March registration window for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for General Manager jobs at Evans General Contractors?
You can browse current General Manager openings at Evans General Contractors on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you know sponsorship is part of the package. Apply directly through their careers portal and tailor your materials to highlight construction operations experience, project P&L oversight, and subcontractor or team management at scale.
Which visa types does Evans General Contractors commonly use for General Manager roles?
Evans has worked with H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visa holders for General Manager positions. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering operations management. TN is a practical path for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management roles. H-1B is the most common long-term sponsorship route for this level of position.
What qualifications does Evans General Contractors expect for a General Manager role?
Evans typically looks for candidates with a background in construction management, civil engineering, or real estate operations, usually backed by a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Hands-on experience managing project budgets, leading field or office teams, and coordinating with subcontractors or owners is central to what they evaluate at the General Manager level.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a General Manager role at Evans General Contractors?
Timeline depends on your visa type. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS can take two to three months, so apply for the EAD well before your graduation date. TN status for Canadians can be processed at the border in a single day. H-1B sponsorship requires cap registration in March and a start date no earlier than October 1, making it a six-plus month process from offer to first day.
