Earn a PMP Before Applying
Sundt prioritizes credentialed project managers. Holding a PMP certification before you apply signals you meet U.S. industry standards, which strengthens both your candidacy and the specialty occupation case needed for H-1B sponsorship.
Target Sundt's Federal and Healthcare Divisions
Sundt actively builds out its federal and healthcare construction pipelines, where senior PM demand is highest. Focusing your outreach on those divisions increases your odds of landing a role that genuinely needs your background.
Align Your Degree Field to the Role Description
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree and the offered position for H-1B specialty occupation approval. A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or architecture maps cleanly to a senior PM role at a general contractor like Sundt.
Ask About LCA Filing Timelines at Offer Stage
Before accepting an offer, confirm Sundt's internal timeline for filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL. LCA certification must precede the H-1B petition, and construction hiring seasons mean delays can push your start date if the process isn't started promptly.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Open Senior PM Roles
Search Migrate Mate to browse verified Senior Project Management openings at Sundt Construction filtered by sponsorship type. It cuts out the guesswork of identifying which postings are realistically open to sponsored candidates.
Document Field Experience in Scope and Budget Terms
Sundt evaluates senior PMs on project scale, not just titles. Structure your resume around concrete scope and budget responsibility you've managed, since that framing directly supports the employer's petition narrative when filing with USCIS.

Find Senior Project Management at Sundt Construction JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sundt Construction sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Project Managements?
Yes, Sundt Construction sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Project Management roles. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines because it typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. Sponsorship is most common where the candidate brings specialized experience in sectors like healthcare, federal, or transportation construction that align with Sundt's active project pipeline.
How do I apply for Senior Project Management jobs at Sundt Construction?
Applications go through Sundt's careers portal, where Senior PM roles are listed by region and market sector. Tailoring your application to a specific division, such as federal or industrial, improves relevance. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Sundt on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying.
Which visa types does Sundt Construction commonly use for Senior Project Management roles?
The H-1B is the primary long-term sponsorship path for Senior Project Management positions at Sundt. The company has also worked with candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible to recent graduates transitioning from university programs into full-time roles. TN and J-1 classifications have been used as well, depending on the candidate's nationality and program type.
What qualifications does Sundt Construction expect for Senior Project Management roles?
Sundt typically looks for a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture alongside substantial field experience managing large-scale construction projects. Senior-level roles usually require demonstrated ownership of preconstruction planning, subcontractor coordination, schedule management, and budget oversight. Sector experience in healthcare, transportation, or federal contracting is a meaningful differentiator given where Sundt's project volume is concentrated.
How do I time my visa sponsorship process when starting at Sundt Construction?
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, coordinate your offer date with the H-1B cap filing window, which opens in March each year for an October 1 start. USCIS requires the I-129 petition to be filed after DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application, so confirm Sundt's HR team has started that process at least 60 days before your OPT expires to avoid a gap in work authorization.
