Job Responsibilities:
- Provides specialized care for chronically ill/medically fragile students (i.e. g-tube, toileting assistance), and medication administration.
- Administers first aid for minor cuts and injuries and provides first aid care/support for ill students and staff.
- Documents all first aid, and minor medical procedures provided.
- Reviews immunization records for compliance and completes/reviews medical records in students' cum and electronic folders. Follow up to ensure all immunization records are up to date.
- Assists in the development of Health Plans for children with health needs.
- Inspects for head lice.
- Notifies parents in case of medical emergencies or illness and tracks to ensure updated emergency forms are completed.
- Maintains medication forms to dispense medication to students, dispenses medication to students and track amounts given.
- Assists in tracking and conducting Vision/hearing assessments.
- Maintain emergency contact records.
- Notify parents in case of illness.
- Cares for student until parent arrives (in isolated location).
- Provides training and modeling for staff.
- Provide documentation for Medicaid billing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
