Align your credentials with U.S. standards
Construction licensing and certification requirements vary by country. Before applying, verify that your qualifications translate clearly to U.S. equivalents like OSHA certifications, PMP, or state-issued contractor licenses that Colorado campus hiring managers recognize.
Target campus facilities and capital programs
University of Colorado hires construction professionals across facilities management, capital construction, and project delivery teams. Search job postings by department, not just title, since roles like project manager or facilities coordinator sit under different units.
Browse open roles using Migrate Mate
Filter construction openings at University of Colorado directly through Migrate Mate to see which roles are actively seeking internationally sponsored candidates, saving you time that would otherwise go into manually checking the university's careers portal.
Understand how the PERM process affects your timeline
If you're targeting a Green Card pathway through an EB-2 or EB-3 category, the PERM labor certification process through DOL can add a year or more to your timeline. Factor this into conversations with the university's HR team before accepting an offer.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your start date
As a federal contractor recipient, University of Colorado uses E-Verify to confirm work authorization. If you're on OPT or CPT, ensure your I-20 and EAD documentation are current and consistent with your intended start date to avoid onboarding delays.
Raise sponsorship early in the interview process
University of Colorado's HR and immigration teams handle sponsorship requests through a structured internal process. Asking about sponsorship support in the first interview, rather than after an offer, lets both sides confirm alignment before significant time is invested.

How do I apply for Construction jobs at University of Colorado?
Applications go through the University of Colorado's official careers portal, where construction roles are posted under departments like Facilities Management and Capital Construction. Tailor your resume to reflect project scope, budget management, and any campus or public sector construction experience. Which visa types does University of Colorado commonly use for Construction roles?
