Target health sciences and research roles
University of New England's strongest hiring tends to be in health sciences, biomedical research, and education. Focus your applications on faculty, research, and clinical positions where specialized expertise makes visa sponsorship a practical necessity for the university.
Understand which visa types UNE supports
UNE sponsors H-1B and Green Card pathways alongside J-1 and TN visas. Knowing which categories align with your background lets you frame your application around the sponsorship path the university is already comfortable processing.
Apply for faculty and postdoctoral positions first
Academic institutions typically reserve sponsorship for roles requiring highly specialized credentials. Postdoctoral fellowships, tenure-track faculty positions, and research scientist roles at UNE are the most likely to include visa sponsorship as part of the offer.
Engage with UNE's HR early in the process
Universities often have dedicated international faculty support offices. Reaching out to UNE's human resources or international scholar services team early signals your seriousness and helps clarify whether a specific role qualifies for sponsorship before you invest in a full application.
Use verified sponsorship data to find open roles
Not every university lists sponsorship eligibility clearly in job postings. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you confirm UNE is actively sponsoring before applying.
Prepare for a longer hiring timeline in higher education
University hiring cycles, especially for faculty roles, move slower than the private sector. UNE's academic calendar means searches often open months before a start date, so begin tracking open positions well in advance to avoid missing application windows.
