About VIATechnik:
VIATechnik is the global leader in Virtual Design and Construction. We have over 400 digital experts around the globe. The firm's services include Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual & Augmented Reality, Digital Twins, and Enterprise Software Application Development.
We work on some of the industry's largest and most interesting projects such as Apple's new headquarters, Virgin Hyperloop One, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) modernization & expansions, Denver International Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Hudson Yards, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, Chase Arena, the Tesla Gigafactory and many more. Our team is made up of leading VDC professionals, technologists, architects, and engineers who have a passion for solving problems and a thirst for learning. We are results-driven, creative solution finders and enjoy putting ourselves in our clients' shoes.
Build the Electrical Models That Prevent Problems Before They Hit the Field
This is not a production-only VDC role.
VIATechnik is looking for a Senior VDC Engineer who wants to lead complex electrical BIM/VDC projects end-to-end-owning model quality, guiding global teams, and working directly with electrical subcontractor clients to solve real constructability challenges before construction begins.
In this role, you'll operate as both a technical authority and trusted client partner, translating incomplete or ambiguous design information into coordinated, buildable electrical models that align with schedule, budget, and field execution. You'll work across commercial and industrial projects in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment where VDC is treated as a strategic advantage-not a downstream service.
Why This Is a Career Move
Top performers in this role don't just "do BIM"-they shape how electrical VDC gets delivered. You'll gain:
- Ownership of complex, high-impact electrical VDC projects
- Direct client-facing leadership and decision-making responsibility
- Experience leading and scaling global modeling teams
- The opportunity to influence standards, workflows, and best practices across an industry-leading organization
- Exposure to advanced digital tools and evolving BIM/VDC workflows that accelerate professional growth
For a growth-minded VDC engineer, this role offers increasing scope, visibility, and influence-not just more projects.
What You'll Be Accountable For
Within your first year, success looks like this:
- Delivering coordinated, constructible electrical models that prevent downstream field issues and reduce rework
- Leading global modeling teams with clear scope, strong quality control, and predictable delivery
- Running coordination conversations with confidence, resolving clashes and managing ambiguity under schedule pressure
- Earning repeat client trust by positioning VDC as a value-driver, not a checkbox
- Improving how work gets done, through better workflows, smarter tool usage, and shared best practices
Top performers are known for anticipating problems early, raising quality standards, and making projects easier for everyone downstream.
Who Thrives Here
This role is a strong fit if you:
- Take ownership and don't wait for perfect information
- Enjoy leading without needing formal authority
- Are comfortable working with remote and global teams
- Like balancing technical depth with communication and client trust
- Want to keep raising the bar-for yourself and the work
Win-Win Hiring
This is a win-win when you grow into a recognized technical and client leader delivering high-impact electrical VDC work-and VIATechnik gains a trusted expert who elevates quality, client satisfaction, and innovation across its VDC practice.
Compensation and featured benefits:
- The pay for this position is $90,000 – $110,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
- Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
- Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
- Open and flexible time off
- A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
- Home office setup costs
- Paid holidays

Target technical and engineering consulting roles
VIATechnik's core work sits at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and technology. Roles tied to BIM, VDC, and digital delivery are where sponsorship activity concentrates, focus your applications there rather than support or administrative functions.
Demonstrate degree relevance to the role
For H-1B sponsorship in consulting, employers must show the position requires a specific degree. A background in engineering, architecture, construction management, or computer science aligns most directly with VIATechnik's specialty occupation filings.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsorship opportunities
Not every job posting mentions visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, useful when evaluating whether a specific VIATechnik opening has a realistic path to H-1B support.
Factor consulting project cycles into your timeline
Consulting firms often hire around project demand, which can affect when sponsorship paperwork is initiated. Starting conversations with recruiters early, ideally three to four months before your OPT or status deadline, gives VIATechnik time to plan accordingly.
Ask directly about Green Card sponsorship at the offer stage
VIATechnik has a track record of supporting Green Card pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3. If long-term permanent residency is your goal, the offer negotiation stage is the right moment to ask what the firm's typical sponsorship timeline looks like.

Find VIATechnik JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does VIATechnik sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, VIATechnik sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles. The firm's work in digital engineering and virtual design and construction typically meets the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B eligibility. Roles tied to BIM and VDC delivery are the most common fit. If you're targeting an H-1B with VIATechnik, confirm early in the process that your specific role and degree field align with their petition criteria.
Which visa types does VIATechnik sponsor?
VIATechnik sponsors H-1B and Green Card petitions, including EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. The firm also supports F-1 OPT and CPT, and TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. Sponsorship tends to focus on technical consulting roles rather than generalist or support positions, so the visa type you pursue should match both your immigration status and the nature of the role.
What departments or roles at VIATechnik are most likely to get visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at VIATechnik concentrates in technical delivery roles, particularly those involving building information modeling, virtual design and construction, and digital project management. Engineers, architects, and construction technology specialists with specialized degree backgrounds are the most common beneficiaries. Roles that can be clearly tied to a specific field of study and a defined body of specialized knowledge are best positioned for H-1B and Green Card sponsorship.
How do I find open visa-sponsored roles at VIATechnik?
The most reliable approach is to use Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history by employer so you can see VIATechnik's actual track record before applying. Not all job postings will explicitly state visa sponsorship availability, so filtering by confirmed sponsors saves time and avoids dead ends. Once you identify a relevant opening, reach out to the recruiter directly to confirm sponsorship is on the table for that specific position.
How do I approach the application process at VIATechnik as an international candidate?
Start by identifying roles that closely match your degree field, since VIATechnik's sponsorship activity is concentrated in specialty occupation positions. Apply as early as possible if you're on OPT, given H-1B cap deadlines in April. Be upfront about your immigration status during the recruiter screen so both sides can plan the timeline. If you're seeking a Green Card, raise it at the offer stage rather than after onboarding.
