Tailor Your Resume for Healthcare Administration
WellSpan Health prioritizes candidates with experience in medical office workflows, EHR systems like Epic, and HIPAA-compliant documentation. Highlight these directly on your resume before you apply, since healthcare-specific administrative credentials carry more weight than general office experience here.
Target Roles Across Multiple WellSpan Locations
WellSpan operates hospitals and outpatient centers across south-central Pennsylvania. Administrative Assistant openings are posted across these facilities, so filtering by location rather than just job title surfaces more sponsorship-eligible positions that might otherwise be overlooked.
Verify Your OPT or CPT Aligns with Start Dates
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorized employment period covers the projected start date WellSpan offers. Healthcare hiring cycles can run six to ten weeks from application to offer, so factor that into your USCIS-authorized work window before applying.
Ask HR Directly About H-1B Filing Timelines
WellSpan's HR teams manage sponsorship internally. Once you reach the offer stage, ask specifically whether they file for the April H-1B cap or use cap-exempt pathways through affiliated nonprofit hospital entities, as that affects when you can actually start work.
Prepare Your Credential Documents Before the Offer
WellSpan runs E-Verify checks on all new hires. Have your passport, visa documents, and any academic transcripts ready before your official start date. For PERM-based Green Card pathways, gather employment verification letters from prior healthcare roles early.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Verified Sponsoring Roles
Search for Administrative Assistant openings at WellSpan Health on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where sponsorship has been confirmed. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process.

Find Administrative Assistant at WellSpan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WellSpan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants?
Yes, WellSpan Health has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for employees in support and administrative functions. For Administrative Assistants, sponsorship is more likely for roles tied to clinical operations or specialized departments. You'll want to confirm the specific position's sponsorship eligibility with WellSpan's HR team during the offer stage, since not every administrative opening automatically qualifies.
Which visa types does WellSpan Health commonly sponsor for Administrative Assistant roles?
WellSpan Health sponsors several visa categories for Administrative Assistants, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for qualifying exchange visitors. F-1 OPT and CPT are also accepted for students in eligible programs. For permanent residence, WellSpan has used EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways for longer-tenured administrative staff.
What qualifications does WellSpan Health expect for Administrative Assistant positions?
WellSpan typically looks for candidates with a high school diploma or associate degree, though roles in clinical or specialty departments often prefer a bachelor's degree. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is a practical advantage. Prior experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or medical office setting is commonly expected and strengthens sponsorship candidacy significantly.
How do I apply for Administrative Assistant jobs at WellSpan Health?
You can browse and apply for Administrative Assistant openings directly through WellSpan Health's careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for WellSpan roles that offer visa sponsorship. Apply with a resume that reflects healthcare administrative experience, and note your work authorization status clearly in your application so HR can route it to the appropriate sponsorship process.
How do I plan my timeline when applying to WellSpan Health on a work visa?
WellSpan's hiring process for Administrative Assistant roles typically runs six to ten weeks from application to offer. If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your authorization end date covers that window. For H-1B cap filings, USCIS accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start, so timing your offer accordingly is critical. Cap-exempt hospital affiliates can file year-round, which may offer more flexibility.
